FantasySavvy 2018: QB Tiers

Welcome to FantasySavvy’s Tiers. We start with the QB’s. Stay tuned for the rest of the positions. Follow us on Twitter @FantasySavvy.

People are doubting Russ with Schotty as his O-Coordinator, but Russ can do it with anyone because he’s Russ. He stays in the first Tier. Cam did it without much last year and adds D.J. Moore a seasoned CMC and gets a healthy Greg Olsen back. Rodgers and Brady are no brainers.

I can see Wentz moving up to Tier 1 numbers by the end of the year, but I also see a slow start since he hasn’t played football in a long time (ACL) and a lot of his skills are based on him using his legs. Drew Brees is due for a bounce back season. Last years TD total was fluky, he could easily move back to Tier 1. Luck, I have full confidence in, not worried. Big Ben adds James Washington and JuJu is a year smarter. Ben is going to put up big numbers again. Watson I see some regression, so that’s why I keep him out of the first tier, but still a good season is coming, no doubt.

Eli Manning in Tier C? Why not? Beckham, Saquon, Shepard, Engram and a renewed offensive line. Eli could have a career year. Great value here. Mahomes is going to be bombing it away to Hill and Watkins. I see a bounce back from Carr and also Dak, although I am not as thrilled with them in this Tier.

The Titans may want to look at possibly moving on from Mariota, I just don’t think he’s a big time player. A horrendous year last year, he should bounce back to 2016 levels some, but still I am not confident in him. Joe Flacco is going to have a solid season with Crabtree, John Brown, some new Tight Ends and an established run game. Decent value with Joe in 2 QB leagues.

People going gaga over Trubisky, I don’t see it. I see another Jake Locker type situation here. It’s probably what will hold the Bears back. It won’t take much to be better than Locker and he is surrounded by a ton of weapons, so he should at least put up some decent numbers, I hope.

I could see all the rookies listed in Tier F having an impact at some point this year. Darnold and Mayfield have looked the best so far with Allen and Rosen not far off. Although Allen is just in a horrid situation, I love his ability.  Darnold has the best chance to start right away it appears. Rosen is also in a good situation and we know Bradford’s fragility.

Tier G has some hopefuls in where any of these guys could produce if given a chance to start. We saw what McCown did last year, he was very useful.

The rest of the bunch are some desperate hits that I feel at least could be somewhat useful if given the chance, notably Chad Kelly, Sudfeld, Webb, Rudolph and Brissett.
