Fantasy Savvy’s Annual Player Tiers are back for 2012 as we start you off with the Quarterback position. Nowadays, we have to approach this position with a different mindset. I, like many, used to bank on the positions depth and waited to select my QB. However, the NFL is becoming more of a passing game as well all know and we now have QB’s putting up huge numbers from year to year. Brady is throwing 50 TD’s, Brees’ is breaking Dan Marino’s record, Cam Newton is setting records for running and passing TD’s and so on and so Larry. You get my point!
The QB position has excelled in the last 5 years or so and it is now essential, in my humble opinion, more so than ever, to grab a top QB. When selecting a QB, I am trying to get one of the QB’s that are in the first or second tiers. If my league is providing six points for a throwing TD, then I am highly considering drafting a Tier 1 QB in the first round. These QB’s will give you consistent scoring week in and week out and will carry your team when it is having an off week. By acquiring a top QB, your team will compete week to week and your chances of making the playoffs will increase dramatically. This is Fantasy Savvy’s strategy, you are advised to follow, but at the end of the day, it’s your squad and do what you wish. Let’s Tier em up for ya.
