Week 14 Player Rankings

By Mike Cannici

QB Rankings

1.       Michael Vick @ DAL

2.       Drew Brees vs. STL

3.       Aaron Rodgers @ DET

4.       Phillip Rivers vs. KC

5.       Peyton Manning @ TEN

6.       Joe Flacco @ HOU- Going up against the league’s worst pass defense, enough said.

7.       Kyle Orton @ ARI

8.       Jon Kitna vs. PHI

9.       Jay Cutler vs. NE- Pats give up an average of 22 fantasy pts to QB’s and Cutler gets that at home, I like this matchup a lot.

10.   Ben Roethlisberger vs. CIN

11.   Josh Freeman @ WAS

12.   David Garrard vs. OAK

13.   Matt Schaub vs. BAL

14.   Tom Brady @ CHI

15.   Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. CLE

16.   Matt Ryan @ CAR

17.   Drew Stanton vs. GB- Was solid last week against a tough Bears defense and could be down early and be forced to start slinging it.

18.   Eli Manning @ MIN

19.   Jason Campbell @ JAC

20.   Alex Smith vs. SEA- First game back and only one team has allowed more pts to opposing QB’s over the last three weeks than Seattle.

21.   Carson Palmer @ PIT

22.   Sam Bradford @ NO

23.   Mark Sanchez vs. MIA

24.   Donavan McNabb vs. TB

25.   Chad Henne @ NYJ

26.   Brett Favre/Tavaris Jackson vs. NYG- It doesn’t matter to me which man is under center there both ranked the same. Jackson actually has slightly more upside this week because of his feet however.

27.   Kerry Collins vs. IND

28.   Matt Hasselback @ SF

29.   Jake Delhomme @ BUF- The Bills surprisingly enough are very good against the pass, and Delhomme, is Delhomme so bench him.

30.   Jimmy Clausen vs. ATL

31.   Brodie Croyle @ SD- With Cassel likely on the bench after having an appendectomy, Croyle will get the start in a tough road matchup.

32.   John Skelton vs. DEN

RB Rankings

1.       Peyton Hillis @ BUF

2.       Arian Foster vs. BAL

3.       Chris Johnson vs. IND

4.       LeSean McCoy @ DAL

5.       Michael Turner @ CAR

6.       Maurice Jones-Drew vs. OAK

7.       Adrian Peterson vs. NYG

8.       Knowshon Moreno @ ARI

9.       Rashard Mendenhall vs. CIN

10.   Ray Rice @ HOU

11.   Mike Tolbert vs. KC

12.   Steven Jackson @ NO

13.   Ahmad Bradshaw @ MIN

14.   Darren McFadden @ JAC

15.   LaGarrette Blount @ WAS- The Redskins allowed 200 yards and four touchdowns last weeks to the G-Men, Blount is in store for a big day.

16.   Jamaal Charles @ SD

17.   Matt Forte vs. NE

18.   Fred Jackson vs. CLE

19.   Chris Ivory vs. STL- Pierre Thomas is expected back, but Ivory has done enough to get the bulk of the carries for at least one more week and likely keep the goal line carries as they work Thomas back in.

20.   LaDainian Tomlinson vs. MIA

21.   Brian Westbrook vs. SEA

22.   Jonathan Stewart vs. ATL- He’s got the job all to himself now with Goodson likely to sit. I’m guessing he puts up a 100 yards and a score like Blount did against them last week.

23.   Tim Hightower vs. DEN- The Broncos give up a ton of pts to running backs(28.3ppg) and Hightower seems to be the more productive of the Cardinals two backs.

24.   James Starks @ DET- If Starks gets the bulk of the carries again this week, expect 100 yards and a touchdown against the Lions defense which ranks last vs. the run.

25.   Ronnie Brown @ NYJ

26.   Felix Jones vs. PHI

27.   Ryan Torain vs. TB- Torain is expected back this week and could put up a solid game against the Bucs, if he can make it through the entire game.

28.   Anthony Dixon vs. SEA

29.   Shonne Greene vs. MIA

30.   Brandon Jacobs @ MIN

31.   BenJarvus Green-Ellis @ CHI- Could get a score here, but in terms of yardage, I don’t see that happening against the stout Bears defense.

32.   Marshawn Lynch @ SF

33.   Jahvid Best vs. GB

34.   Tashard Choice vs. PHI- Choice picked up 100 yards and a score last week, look for similar numbers against Philly.

35.   Reggie Bush vs. STL

36.   Cedric Benson @ PIT

37.   Javarris James @ TEN- Donald Brown will get bulk of the carries, but James is the goal line guy.

38.   Michael Bush @ JAC

39.   Maurice Morris vs. GB

40.   Ricky Williams @ NYJ

41.   Thomas Jones @ SD

42.   Beanie Wells vs. DEN- The Broncos give up enough fantasy points for Wells to put up a decent game. Low end flex play.

43.   Brandon Jackson @ DET

44.   Donald Brown @ TEN

45.   Toby Gerhart vs. NYG

46.   Danny Woodhead vs. MIA

47.   Keiland Williams vs. TB

48.   C.J. Spiller vs. CLE

49.   Pierre Thomas vs. STL- Will likely make his return but will be worked back in slowly. I’d guess it’ll take an injury for Thomas to make a significant impact this week.

50.   Chester Taylor vs. NE

WR Rankings

1.       Andre Johnson vs. BAL

2.       Greg Jennings @ DET

3.       Roddy White @ CAR

4.       Reggie Wayne @ TEN

5.       Mike Wallace vs. CIN- I can’t imagine him not having a big game seeing how the Bengals have given up a ton of big plays as of late. He’s a quality WR1 this week.

6.       Brandon Lloyd @ ARI- Had a bad week last week (2 for 31) but will bounce back big against the Cards.

7.       Steve Johnson vs. CLE

8.       Calvin Johnson vs. GB

9.       Terrell Owens @ PIT

10.   Desean Jackson @ DAL

11.   Miles Austin vs. PHI

12.   Malcom Floyd vs. KC

13.   Mike Williams @ WAS

14.   Johnny Knox vs. NE

15.   Wes Welker @ CHI

16.   Dwayne Bowe @ SD- After last week’s stat line full of zero’s and Matt Cassel likely to be inactive, I can’t put Bowe in the top ten. He should bounce back however and put up high end WR2 numbers.

17.   Anquan Boldin @ HOU

18.   Mike Thomas vs. OAK

19.   Jeremy Maclin @. DAL

20.   Marques Colston vs. STL-

21.   Pierre Garcon @ TEN

22.   Hines Ward vs. CIN

23.   Sidney Rice vs. NYG

24.   Michael Crabtree vs. SEA

25.   Chad OchoCinco @ PIT

26.   Davone Bess @ NYJ- The few receivers that have success against the Jets are usually the slot guys, so Bess has a real good chance at posting WR2 numbers.

27.   Steve Smith vs. ATL

28.   Mario Manningham @ MIN- Seemed to struggle as “the Guy” but with Smith likely back could be more productive.

29.   Jabar Gaffney @ ARI

30.   Derrick Mason @ HOU

31.   Deion Branch @ CHI

32.   Steve Breaston vs. DEN

33.   Lee Evans vs. CLE

34.   Steve Smith @ MIN

35.   Braylon Edwards vs. MIA

36.   Santana Moss vs. TB

37.   Randy Moss vs. IND- Moss has been a non factor since showing up in Tennessee, but I like this matchup in a big game for both teams. The Colts have a tough time stopping the pass and with Kenny Britt returning, he could have a solid game.

38.   Earl Bennett vs. NE

39.   Larry Fitzgerald vs. DEN- Tough matchup against Champ Bailey who shut down Dwayne Bowe last week.

40.   Robert Meachem vs. STL

41.   Mike Sims-Walker vs. OAK

42.   Santonio Holmes vs. MIA

43.   Roy Williams vs. PHI

44.   Brandon GIbson @ NO

45.   Anthony Armstrong vs. TB

46.   Louis Murphy @ JAC

47.   Kenny Britt vs. IND- Is going to play Thursday night but is not likely to start. The last game he played with Collins he scored three touchdowns. It’s unlikely Britt will have a big game this week and shouldn’t be started as more than a flex until we know how the hammy will hold up.

48.   Blair White @ TEN

49.   Mohammed Massaquoi @ NO

50.   Seyi Ajirotutu vs. KC- Will get the start with Naanee, Crayton and Jackson out.

51.   Donald Driver @ DET

52.   Jacoby Ford @ JAC

53.   Nate Burleson vs. GB

54.   Danny Amendola @ NO

55.   Nate Washington vs. IND

TE Rankings

1.       Vernon Davis vs. SEA

2.       Jason Witten vs. PHI

3.       Antonio Gates vs. KC- The Chiefs actually allow the least fantasy points to TE’s, but Gates is special and thus far this season there hasn’t been a ton of quality tight ends on the Chiefs plate.

4.       Ben Watson @ BUF- Went off last week (10-100-1) and faces the second most TE friendly defense in the Bills.

5.       Jacob Tamme @ TEN

6.       Tony Gonzalez @ CAR

7.       Marcedes Lewis vs. OAK

8.       Dustin Keller vs. MIA

9.       Zach Miller @ JAC

10.   Chris Cooley vs. TB

11.   Brandon Pettigrew vs. GB

12.   Tony Moeaki @ SD

13.   Kevin Boss @ MIN- Boss should have at least one more solid week in him before Nicks is back.

14.   Aaron Hernandez @ CHI

15.   Visanthe Shiancoe vs. NYG

16.   Greg Olsen vs. NE

17.   Ed Dickson @ HOU- With Todd Heap likely to sit, Dickson could have a big day against the league’s worst pass defense. Sleeper Alert here.

18.   Kellen Winslow @ WAS

19.   Brent Celek @ DAL

20.   Anthony Fasano @ NYJ

21.   Jimmy Graham vs. STL

22.   Jared Cook vs. IND

23.   Rob Gronkowski @ CHI

24.   Jermaine Gresham @ PIT

25.   Owen Daniels vs. BAL- Is expected to return but wouldn’t expect much in his first game back.

26.   John Carlson @ SF

27.   Joel Dreessen vs. BAL- May still carry some weight as Daniels eases back into the offense.

28.   Andrew Quarless @ DET
