Titans vs. Colts
The 5-7 Tennessee Titans will host the 6-6 Indianapolis Colts tonight and as fans we are all wondering if Peyton Manning has lost his goods. Peyton Manning’s kryptonite is defenses that use the 3-4 schemes as we have seen the Colts lose to the Chargers and Cowboys who run the 3-4. Peyton Manning has thrown 11 interceptions in the last three games but analysts are saying it’s not entirely his fault. His wide receivers take a little bit longer to get open (Blair White, Jacob Tamme) and his run game has been non-existent since Joseph Addai went down. However he hasn’t been looking off defenders and making the right reads as he has stated during his post game interviews. There is something about Peyton Manning that doesn’t seem right, but I still won’t say he is on the decline just yet. The Titans run a 4-3 defense and they themselves have been on the decline ever since Vince Young showed the world he is incapable of being a leader the Titans need behind center. He started the season exceptionally well too which is unfortunate. The truth of the matter is that Kerry Collins is a solid quarterback but the Titans defense is no longer what it used to be in 2007 and 2008 seasons. The Titans defense ranks 23rd against the pass and 22nd against the run. I think this will be too much for Kerry and Chris Johnson to handle, although anything is possible. If Peyton Manning finds a way to lose in this game you can seriously consider him on the decline of his career, we will just have to wait and see. I think Javarris James has the most upside tonight if you dare to plug him in your lineups as he has a better nose for the end zone than Donald Brown (who is also favoring an ankle injury), but Donald Brown sometimes puts up decent numbers. Chris Johnson is mad and is a must start as always this week whether or not there are 8 defenders in the box. Kenny Britt is back for the Titans and I expect him to make an immediate impact while Randy Moss will finally realize he is just an afterthought. I like the Colts to win this one, 31-20.
