Packers TE Jermichael Finley has told teammates that he may miss the rest of the season following knee surgery Tuesday. He is likely to be placed on the IR to make room for some players to be activated next week. You can probably part ways with him in redraft leagues, but hold onto him in keeper and dynasty leagues obviously.
In other Packer news, QB Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the Redskins, is undergoing tests and an update on his week 6 status will not be available until sometime Thursday. The Pack will obviously be very cautious, as they should be with a head injury but especially with their franchise QB. Matt Flynn would get the start if Rodgers couldn’t suit up. The Eagles and Browns traded RB for RB today trading Mike Bell to the Browns for Jerome Harrison. Neither one was in a great situation and still isn’t after this trade. Not quite sure the reasoning behind all this but neither one has much value right now without an injury to the starter. SOURCE: Jay Glazer on Twitter
Eagles QB Mike Vick(ribs) is still unable to throw and his status is in doubt for Sunday’s game against Vick’s former team the Falcons.
Texans WR Jacoby Jones (calf) sat out Wednesday’s practice but Coach Kubiak was encouraged that Jones was able to run a little bit on the sidelines. He is listed as questionable for week 6. SOURCE: Nick Scurfield on Twitter
Saints RB Pierre Thomas still hasn’t practiced as of Wednesday with that ankle injury and his status for week 6 appears very much in doubt. They signed Julius Jones yesterday as depth but he has no value as he has shown nothing in the past few seasons to deserve it. SOURCE: Jeff Duncan on Twitter
Bears QB Jay Cutler has been cleared to practice and will start Sunday at home against the Seahawks.
Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno(hamstring) and WR DeMaryius Thomas (neck) were both held out of practice Wednesday. Were not quite sure whether or not they will suit up Sunday against the Jets. Moreno was believed to return to full practices this week but thus far has not been the case. Moreno would have a tough matchup anyway against the Jets so you might want to keep him on your bench regardless of him playing, while Thomas has slipped to fourth on the depth chart and should only be owned in deeper and keeper leagues at this point. Lions WR Calvin Johnson practiced in limited fashion Wednesday and was seen favoring his shoulder. His status for Sunday’s game against the Giants is somewhat in doubt. We’ll continue to monitor is progress throughout the week. SOURCE: Tom Kowalski on Twitter
TB top WR, rookie Mike Williams sat out practice Wednesday with a foot injury. This isn’t likely to be a serious one and he should be fine for Sunday’s matchup against the Saints. He’s a fine WR3 in a good matchup.
