Hey guys hope your enjoying this beautiful Wednesday on the East Coast, I know I am ,here is some significant player updates for today.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan as said CB Darrelle Revis will not travel with the team to Miami this weekend, meaning Revis will not play this week.
On the Vincent Jackson trade front, the Chargers and Vikings have not made any progress on a deal. The deadline is 4pm eastern time today to get something done. It appears Jackson will have to sit out until at least week 6 before he’ll be traded or decide to come play for San Diego.
Andre Johnson, who left Sunday’s game shortly with a mild ankle sprain, is just fine and went back into the game and kept on producing. He will start Sunday against the Cowboys and is a must start as always.
Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells took more snaps in practice Wednesday and is quoted as saying, “I am playing Sunday.” Check back in later in the week for his status, but looks like he’s determined to be on the field against Oakland and could be in for a big day. SOURCE: @kentsomers on twitter
Raiders QB Brad Gradkowski will get the nod this week against Arizona. With Jason Campbell lurking in the background, Gradkowski won’t have a long leash, but should have a solid game against a weak Cardinal secondary. Gradkowski is a borderline starter this week, and a must start in 2QB leagues. Source: Jason La Canfora on Twitter
Vikings WR Percy Harvin sat out practice today with a hip injury and is considered questionable for week 3. Keep checking back here daily for Harvin updates, but with this injury and the way the offense has been going, Harvin is probably a guy who should be benched for the time being. Tampa Bay Safety Tanard Jackson has been suspended for at least a year after violating the leagues substance abuse policy. Sabby Piscitelli will now return to the job that Jackson took from him in training camp. Piscitelli is a decent option in IDP leagues, especially ones that require a DB. In other Buccaneer news, RB Cadillac Williams, was limited in practice Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Here we go again with Cadillac being hurt, he’s obviously not been ruled out yet, but he has a injury history and this could be a season long lingering hamstring. Earnest Graham and Kareem Huggins figure to split carries if Caddy were to miss any time. Source: St. Petersburg Times
Ryan Mathews(ankle) missed Wednesday’s practice. The big test will be whether he practices on Friday, it appears this is just precautionary, but we shall see. Hopefully if your a Mathews owner you have already handcuffed him with Mike Tolbert and Darren Sproles, especially in a solid matchup against the Seahawks Sunday. SOURCE: Kevin Acee on Twitter
The QB controversy in Philly just heated up a little bit, as the Cleveland Browns have contacted the Eagles and asked about Kevin Kolb’s availability. With Michael Vick now the starter, Kolb is expendable, but I don’t see Andy Reid making this move, as Kolb is still believed their quarterback of the future. The Browns are obviously not comfortable with Jake Delhomme or Seneca Wallace and I wouldn’t be either. SOURCE: Anthony Gargano WIP Radio
Cowboy TE Jason Witten(concussion) practiced today and should be a go this weekend as long as he doesn’t have any setbacks. Monitor this situation closely as the week goes on.
Steeler Coach Mike Tomlin has announced that Charlie Batch will start at QB Sunday. Big Ben can’t get back quick enough with this mess going on. Batch shouldn’t be an option for fantasy, but could make Pittsburgh WR’s a slight downgrade this week. Dennis Dixon is expected to miss 3-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery Tuesday. Giants TE Kevin Boss was cleared to practice Wednesday and practiced in full. He should be fine to play Sunday against the Titans. He probably shouldn’t be started in most leagues, but at least he seems fine after suffering a concussion, and has the talent to eventually be a starting TE in your league. SOURCE: Newark Star-Ledger
