FantasySavvy Football: Week 11 Start’ Em, Sit ‘Em

By: Kevin Lewis

*Good for both daily and seasonal leagues.

START

QB Mark Sanchez @ Green Bay Packers ($6900) I think Sanchez makes a couple of mistakes in this game but given how cheap he is and how much the Eagles would have to score to compete in this game I think there is a good chance he repays his value.

QB Teddy Bridgewater @ Chicago Bears ($6600) He’s playing against Chicago’s piss poor defense and he has been a little better in the past couple weeks. I’d take a shot at him. If he goes for 250 and two touchdowns, he’s repaid your investment.

RB Jeremy Hill @ New Orleans Saints($6500) After watching his QB go 10/33 for 86 yards in the last game, Hue Jackson has to make the run a priority in this one right? Hill is averaging 5.3 YPC on the season, and his productivity can make everyone else’s jobs easier. That said, he’s liable to abandon the run if the Bengals go down big early so the game flow aspect of playing Hill is impossible to forecast. Basically if you’re going to play him you have to pray.

RB CJ Anderson @ St Louis Rams ($6500) Anderson had one of the greatest 70 yard TD catches you’ll ever see last week. Denver should be in front for a good deal of this game which means Anderson shouldn’t lack for touches in this game.

RB Shane Vereen @ Indianapolis Colts ($6500) Highest over/under on the season. There should be a lot of passing and Shane Vereen is the pass down back. It’s impossible to forecast what the Patriots are going to do but assuming Vereen actually plays a decent amount of snaps he has a high ceiling.

RB Jerrick McKinnon @ Chicago Bears ($5500) Common theme here is picking players going against the Bears. McKinnon will be hard pressed to score a touchdown here but the Bears give up a ton of big plays and I can see McKinnon doing serious damage in the passing game.

WR Greg Jennings @ Chicago Bears ($5300) The Bears clearly have issues stopping the pass, and while Jennings ceiling isn’t particularly high most of the time I like him a great deal this week. He’s also ridiculously cheap on Fanduel. If you have someone like Dez Bryant on bye week you can do a lot worse.

TE Travis Kelce vs Seattle Seahawks ($6200) It looks like Anthony Fasano isn’t going to play. If so, that should boost Kelce into the 80-90% snaps played plateau. The Seahawks give up the fourth most points to tight ends so hopefully it’s #FreeKelce week.

SIT

WR Michael Floyd vs Detroit Lions ($6300) He’s fallen off in recent weeks, takes a QB downgrade and is going against arguably the best defense in football. Pass.

QB Russell Wilson @ Kansas City Chiefs ($8300) Five total touchdowns in the four games since Percy Harvin was traded. The Chiefs haven’t allowed a rushing touchdown all season and have the #1 pass defense in the NFL. It could be a struggle for Wilson at Arrowhead.

WR Martavis Bryant @ Tennessee Titans ($7000) Titans are only allowing 232 passing yards per game on the season. A garbage time TD saved Bryant’s week last week. I think reality finally hits him this week.

WR Kendall Wright vs Pittsburgh Steelers ($6400) There isn’t a single Titans WR worth trusting at this point to be quite honest. I wouldn’t start him or Hunter until they show me some kind of consistent synergy with QB Zach Mettenberger.

TE Vernon Davis @ New York Giants ($5300) At this point, why should you trust him?

QB Andy Dalton @ New Orleans Saints ($7900)  While he won’t be as bad as he was last week, how can one start him with any certainty this week? I’d take my chances with a Bridgewater or Josh McCown before Dalton.

RB Frank Gore @ New York Giants ($7000) He had 81 yards on 23 carries and a TD last week. Even in a good week he averaged 3.5 YPC. He hasn’t gotten more than 17 carries twice all season. I honestly believe Carlos Hyde is a better start this week as I think he has a huge game.

WR Andre Johnson @ Cleveland Browns ($6300) He’s going to see a lot of Joe Haden and is playing with a guy in his first career start. There’s a shot he does well but his floor is ridiculously low for the week.
