  23. Russel Wilson vs MIN
  24. Christian Ponder @ SEA
  25. Blaine Gabbert vs DET

Cam Newton takes the number one spot this week. I have been telling you guys to trade for him, his schedule gets very easy from here on out.

I like Mike Vick to have his best game of the year and to prove worthy of the #2 ranking this week.

Tony Romo plays bold  in Altanta, while Matt Ryan doesn’t do as well as expected against a tough Dallas secondary.

Running Backs

  1. LeSean McCoy @ NO
  2. Arian Foster vs BUF

  41. David Wilson vs PIT * Move up 5 spots if Bradshaw is OUT
  42. Montario Hardesty vs BAL
  43. LeGarette Blount @ OAK
  44. Robert Turbin vs MIN

Reggie Bush really needs to get it done this week against Indy. He has been frustrating ever since his knee injury against the Jets. If he struggles again this week, it’s time to be very worried about how he finishes the year.

Look for Ray Rice to get a big workload and for James Starks to outplay Alex Green against the Cards if given the opportunity.

Wide Receivers

  1. Demaryius Thomas @ CIN
  2. Steve Smith @ WAS
  3. Eric Decker @ CIN

  56. Golden Tate vs MIN
  57. T.Y. Hilton vs MIA
  58. Harry Douglas vs DAL
  59. Josh Morgan vs CAR
  60. Ramses Barden vs PIT

Steve Smith should have his best game of the year against Washington. He can absolutely abuse DeAngelo Hall

I am very weary on Calvin Johnson as you see in my rankings. Hasn’t practiced all week, could be OUT and if he does play could be limited to 3rd downs.

I think the Cowboys corners do a nice job on Roddy and Julio that is why they are both bumped down a bit. Dallas is giving up the fewest points to WR’s. Titus Young could very well play much better there where I have him ranked, especially with the Jags secondary banged up and possibly Megatron being out. Don’t be afraid to notch him up a few spots if you want. I have him there because he has to show me a bit more still as well as Stafford.

Denarius Moore has a great matchup especially with Bucs former CB Talib shipped off to New England.

Demaryius Thomas might be in my top five every week. In one of my leagues a guy just stole Thomas in a trade as well as Forte and that trade could easily get him into the title game. Thomas is going to finish extremely strong as will Eric Decker

Tight Ends

  1. Jason Witten @ ATL
  2. Jimmy Graham vs PHI
  3. Tony Gonzalez vs DAL
  4. Owen Daniels vs BUF
  5. Heath Miller @ NYG
  6. Greg Olsen @ WAS
  7. Jermaine Gresham vs DEN
  8. Brent Celek @ NO
  9. Kyle Rudolph @ SEA
  10. Jermichael Finley vs ARI
  11. Brandon Pettigrew @ JAC
  12. Martellus Bennett vs PIT
  13. Brandon Myers vs TB
  14. Dwayne Allen vs MIA
  15. Dallas Clark @ OAK
  16. Dennis Pitta @ CLE
  17. Logan Paulsen vs CAR
  18. Scott Chandler @ HOU
  19. Jacob Tamme @ CIN
  20. Joel Dreessen @ CIN
  21. Jared Cook vs CHI
  22. Zach Miller vs MIN

Witten takes the number one spot after last week’s performance. Greg Olsen should enjoy a very nice game being the second option with Brandon LaFell out. Dwayne Allen, Brandon Myers and Dallas Clark all are decent plays this week  if you plug them in for Vernon Davis or Rob Gronkowski who are on their bye week.

FantasySavvy 2012: Week 9 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em

As seen on FantayPros911.com. Make sure to check there for tons of great fantasy info. Despite the storm and it’s effects we should have a radio show tomorrow evening and have our rankings out on Saturday night. Thanks to all the readers.

First, I want to say I hope that all our readers affected by Sandy are safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. This storm was truly devastating to many people including ravaging my home state of New Jersey. It is very sad to see areas that I experienced many memories, now destroyed. The Jersey Shore is a special place to many and it may not be the same for a while. I also feel for the people in Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island, Maryland, Connecticut, and all the other areas that were severely affected.

As we look to bounce back from this tragedy, I know many people will be looking to escape from all the stories on the news and get their mind away from thinking about the storm. This is where sports is great, it helps us get our minds off the present conditions for a little while and enjoy something we love. In a time like this Fantasy Football can seem truly insignificant, but at the same time it provides a good outlet to make things seem normal again, even for a few hours. Due to the storm, this weeks start ‘em, sit ‘em will be somewhat of an express version. I have also been affected by the storm and haven’t been able to prepare for this article as I normally would have. If you guys have any questions you can always hit me up at SteveDeAngelo@gmail.com or @FantasySavvy on twitter. Everybody keep your heads up and enjoy this weekend of Football. God Bless.

You won’t see the obvious names on here, that would be pointless. Maybe occasionally to give you a reminder, but rather we are looking to identify some guys that you may be on the fence with and encourage you to either start or sit them. Matchups will be broken down, stats will be used, some projections will be provided and some “gut” feeling will be mixed in. But when it comes down to the come down, it’s your “gut” you need to roll with.

*Players listed in order of projected effectiveness in the start ‘em category and ineffectiveness in the sit ‘em category.

Quarterbacks

Start ‘Em

Cam Newton @ Washington Redskins

Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers

I mentioned last week that this is the perfect time to trade for Cam Newton. He just went through a brutal stretch in his schedule playing Dallas, Seattle and the Bears, but now his schedule eases up bigtime. In one of my leagues, I just saw him get traded for Matt Schaub! Make sure you put out some offers before Sunday and if you acquire Cam, start him Sunday. He is going to have a solid finish to the season.

Matt Schaub vs Buffalo

Schaub hasn’t been great this year, but against Buffalo and their swiss defense, he’s a very solid play. Look for close to 300 yards passing and at least 2 TD’s.

Michael Vick @ New Orleans

I may be crazy, but I am contemplating starting Vick over Aaron Rodgers this week. The New Orleans defense is that awful. They are giving up the most fantasy points and are on track to being one of the worst defenses of all-time. Vick is battling for his job, but expect him to produce nicely in this game.

Sit ‘Em

Christian Ponder @ Seattle

Ponder was hot a few weeks ago, but has now has come back to reality. He needs to be benched in all formats.

Matt Hasselbeck vs Chicago

Hasselbeck will continue to start with Jake Locker out, but stay away from him against Chicago.

Joe Flacco @ Cleveland

Cleveland’s secondary is currently ranked 28th in points allowed to QB’s, but remember Joe Haden was out for four weeks. Since his return they have been stingy against QB’s and completely shut down Phillip Rivers last week. This was a Browns secondary that was one of the best statistically last year.  Flacco has also returned to his normal shenanigans, keep him on your benches.

Running Backs

Start ‘Em

Jamaal Charles @ San Diego

Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs

Normally a player of Charles’ caliber would not be on this list, but since Charles has struggled in his last two games and got just five carries last week, you may need to be reminded to start him. Against the Raiders I believe the Chiefs rested Charles after the game got away, knowing they had a short-week ahead of them. Expect Charles to be the focal point of the offense against San Diego and to produce. Charles will most likely get around 20-25 carries tonight. Make sure he is active, you can never bench a player as talented as him.

Willis McGahee @ Cincy

Continue to roll out Willis in matchups like this. Cincy has been bad against the run ranking 27th in Fantasy points allowed to RB’s, so McGahee will enjoy a nice day. The Broncos have a very nice schedule ahead of them, so he also is a nice trade target.

Joique Bell @ Jacksonville

Bell surprisingly got the majority of the second half touches last week against Seattle and showed his versatility. With Mikel LeShoure questionable for this week, Bell could get a boatload of touches against a weak Jacksonville defense. This looks like a good plug and play for Week 9.

Sit ‘Em

Alex Green vs Arizona

Alex Green is about to lose his job, this guy just has not taken advantage of his opportunities. Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy has already said that James Starks will get more looks this week. Trade Green if you can, because after this week he may have no more value.

Donald Brown vs Miami

Brown is back healthy, but it looks now that he and Vick Ballard will share the backfield. This matchup is also rough this week against a stout Miami run D so keep Brown benched.

Chris Johnson vs Chicago

Johnson has succeeded in tough matchups vs the Texans and Steelers, but Chicago is a different animal to me. I think he struggles mightily in this game and is held under 80 total yards without a score.

Wide Receivers

Start ‘Em

Steve Smith @ Washington

After doing nothing for consecutive weeks, it was good to see Smith succeed in a tough matchup against the Bears by going over 100 yards. This week he is a must-start against the Skins. He will abuse their secondary.

Dwayne Bowe @ San Diego

With Brady Quinn at QB Bowe is hard to trust, but with Cassel playing tonight Bowe needs to be back in Fantasy lineups. The Chargers are also 10th worst in points given up to Fantasy WR’s.

Denarius Moore vs Tampa Bay

Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders

Denarious has been beasting of late finding the endzone for three straight weeks. Palmer will have success against Tampa Bay and their vunerable secondary ranked third worst in fantasy points allowed to WR’s, so get Moore in your lineups.

Sit ‘Em

Torrey Smith @ Cleveland

I mentioned the return of Joe Haden to the Browns secondary and how it spells bad news for Joe Flacco. Well, Haden could be lined up against Smith for much of this matchup. Reserve him.

Malcom Floyd vs Kansas City

I know owners sometimes get giddy and want to start their players in primetime games, but you need to be patient. Floyd has one TD all season, Rivers has not looked good and Floyd will be matched up with Chiefs stud CB Brandon Flowers. Be weary of starting Floyd tonight.

Kenny Britt vs Chicago

Britt was held under 40 yards receiving in favorable matchups against Buffalo and Indy, so no reason to expect him to succeed against Chicago. Britt is still working his way back from his injuries and has not looked like the same player to me.

Tight Ends

Start ‘Em

Jermaine Gresham vs Denver

Good spot to start Gresham here coming off their bye and facing Denver who are 4th worst at defending the Tight End position.

Greg Olsen @ Washington

Greg Olsen, Carolina Panthers

The Skins defense is hot garbage as we all know, so Olsen has a great shot to thrive in this game.

Dwayne Allen vs Miami

With Coby Fleener out abut two weeks, Allen has full reigns at Tight End for the Colts. If you need a tight end this week, the talented rookie is a decent option.

Sit ‘Em

Dennis Pitta @ Cleveland

Maybe some owners are expecting to bounce back after the Ravens bye week, but don’t expect it to happen against the Browns who are third best against Fantasy Tight Ends.

Martellus Bennett vs Pittsburgh

Bennett has worn down after a strong start to the season and can’t be trusted against Pittsburgh. Wait for him to show up once again before putting him back in lineups.

Brandon Pettigrew @ Jacksonville

Sit the overrated Pettigrew against the Jaguars who are allowing the 5th fewest points to Fantasy Tight Ends.

IDP’s

Start ‘Em

Chad Greenway @ Seattle

Richard Sherman vs Minnesota

Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawks

Akeem Ayers vs Chicago

Sit ‘Em

Antrel Rolle vs Pittsburgh

Greg Hardy @ Washington

Patrick Peterson @ Green Bay

Houston @ Philly (Thursday Night Preview)

By Steve DeAngelo

The Texans finally got a win after back to back brutal defeats to the Jaguars and Jets, blowing both games in the final seconds. You expected them to win against the Titans who were starting a rookie QB named Rusty White. The Eagles on the other hand lost on the road in Chicago as the Bears got it done on both defense and offense. This could be a tough spot for the Eagles. Even though they are home, they are coming of two physical games against the Giants and Bears now have to play in a short week. Meanwhile the Texans had a cakewalk last week against the Titans. Still the weakness of the Texans secondary should allow Vick and Co. to move the ball at will and preserve the victory.

Matt Schaub hasn’t been what owners expected this year with only 15 TD’s and it’s mainly due to not having the true 2nd option also with Andre Johnson playing hurt most of the year. Kevin Walter is not reliable either is Jacoby Jones. Owen Daniels was dead-solid for the Texans last year before he got hurt but has struggled to return from his ACL injury. Andre Johnson is the lone ranger at receiver in that offense, but even he hasn’t met expectations with only 5 TD’s this year. You expect more from the #1 ranked Fantasy Wideout coming into this season. Still, Johnson should finish with around 12-1300 yards and 7-9 TD’s with close to 100 catches. Let’s not forget about Joel Dreesen who has produced at TE in the absence of Daniels. Dreesen has started 6 games and has 22 catches for 336 yards and 4 TD’s. Schaub likes to target Dreesen especially since Walter and Jones struggle to get open. Dreesen has scored a TD in his last 2 games.

The Eagles secondary struggled last week allowing 4 TD’s to Jay Cutler and 247 yards. That however was without Asante Samuel playing and the Bears took full advantage. Samuel is a Game-Time decision Thursday, but since he practiced all week he should play. If Samuel Plays I am not so confident in Schaub tonight, if Samuel doesn’t play then I think the Texans can pull of the upset on the road here. The Eagles lead the league in Interceptions at 19 and Samuel has 7 of them. Samuel will disrupt the Texans passing game and easily could take one to the house. Think about it, The turnover prone Jay Cutler was without a pick last week , if Samuel is playing he’s throwing at least one, which could of changed the game. The Eagles rank 13th in passing yards per game at 214 so I wouldn’t expect a ton of yards from Schaub tonight. However the Eagles have let up the 4th most passing TD’s at 22 so expect Johnson or Joel Dreesen or possibly both to score. Also the Eagles are letting up the 27th most points to Tight Ends, so good things could be in store for Dreesen tonight.  Stay away from Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones. Owen Daniels has already been ruled out so forget about him.

Will the Eagles be able to stop Arian Foster? Well they couldn’t stop Matt Forte last week, so I highly doubt they will be able to stop the league’s leading rusher. Foster should easily get over 100 total yards, his rushing numbers could only dwindle if his defense let’s this game get out of hand which is possible. Foster should finish with about 120-150 total yards with at least one score.

Despite Michael Vick continuing to put up pretty solid numbers, defenses have done a much better job against him in recent weeks or it could be he actually faced two good defenses in the Giants and Bears. This week he gets a much easier test vs the 2nd worst secondary in the league in Houston. They would probably still rank last if they didn’t face Rusty Smith last week. The Texans are letting up 286 yards per game and have let up a league high 25 TD’s through the air. They have also let up the most 40+ yards plays all year at 13. This is the perfect recipe for Vick, Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Could we see a repeat of what we saw vs the Redskins? Possibly, although I wouldn’t expect that type of onslaught. The Texans at least have Mario Williams who could disrupt Vick a bit, but not enough to effect him as Vick should find open wideouts all day long. Jackson and Maclin have had back to back quiet weeks but expect them to rebound big time tonight. Last week the Bears took away Maclin and Jackson, So Vick went back to his old ways of hitting the tight end and got Brent Celek back into the mix. Celek had a nice game last week with 3 catches for 50 yards and a TD. I would continue to be patient with Brent as he could start to be a factor in these coming weeks. Due to the Matchup, Jason Avant is also worth a look as a flex play tonight. He could easily find the endzone and put up around 50-70 yards.

The Texans are pretty good statistically against the run ranked 9th overall, but that is definitely inflated because people just come out and pass on them. Lesean Mcoy should enjoy a nice game regardless if he get’s it done on the ground or not. Expect over 100 total yards with 3-5 catches and a possible score.

In the end this game should be high scoring with the Texans playing catch up most of the night. If Samuel Plays and I expect he will, expect Schaub to throw at least 1 pick his way. Andre Johnson will put up nice numbers as will Joel Dreesen and we could see a TD from both. Vick should have an excellent day as the Eagles bounce back and get a win here against the Texans. Eagles 34 Texans 24

Fantasy Breakdown (1 O’clock Games)

By Al Squatrito

Panthers vs. Ravens

Rumors have it that Head Coach John Fox may no longer be the coach of the Carolina Panthers in 2011, I’m sure that doesn’t bother him too much as the Panthers look dreadful in 2010. Matt Moore is on i.r., DeAngelo Williams just went on i.r., T Jeff Otah, and LB Thomas Davis have also subdued to injury reserve. Julius Peppers, one of the best defensive players for the Panthers was traded to the Bears last year for a six-year contract. The Panthers will look to play third string quarterback Tony Pike on Sunday when they will be home hosting the Baltimore Ravens. Ray Rice was making some noise to the media this week saying, “Big game is coming where the numbers will be great.” Ray Rice no doubt has the talent of elite running backs in the NFL but hasn’t put it all on display as consistently as he had in his rookie season last year with the Ravens. Coaches want to keep players healthy as long as they can and if they can secure a win without wearing down their star players, they will do just that. The Panthers rank 27th against the run and are surprisingly 5th against the pass, maybe that’s why Ray Rice thinks, knows he will have a monster day against them this week. Start Rice with confidence this week and look at Joe Flacco to take a back seat and watch his running game take off all game. I would bench Flacco if I had Eli Manning, Shaun Hill, Vince Young, Carson Palmer, Troy Smith, Jon Kitna, Matt Cassel, or Mark Sanchez on my bench. I know the Ravens will have plenty of opportunities to score this week, but their defense and run game is all they will need to take this game over. I wouldn’t start any Carolina Panther this weekend unless you’re season is already over and you wanted to make some sort of sick joke out of it. There may be a shutout in Bank of American Stadium in week 11.

Bengals vs. Bills
If the Bengals lose at home this weekend to the Buffalo Bills I would assume none of the players inside that locker have any respect for their head coach. Marvin Lewis is certainly on the hot seat as his team swept the division last year and made it to the playoffs. If the Bengals lose this week it will mark their seventh straight loss in a row. Ouch. That is the main reason why I don’t think they will lose at home even though they are devastated with a 2-7 record. Their schedule is one of the toughest in the NFL this season. Should we give them some………….sympathy? I expect Cedric Benson to have his best day of the season on Sunday playing against the worst rushing defense in the league. Fred Jackson should play decently well against the Bengals as they give up 4.3 yards a carry on the ground, but I think the Bengals defense will play a bit better this week to prevent a 7th straight loss, despite giving up 329.3 yards a game. The Bills are giving up 373.7 yards a game. I don’t think Ryan Fitzpatrick, Steve Johnson, or Lee Evans will have a great day in fantasy because the Bengals secondary is one of the best in the NFL regardless of what the stats say. I don’t think Terrell Owens will have the best day this weekend because the Bills run game is dreadful so the Bengals will shift more to the run game and may play with a lead. I also feel as though Ochocinco needs to start playing more consistent. It is very ugly inside the Bengals locker room right now, if Ochocinco doesn’t get more balls thrown his way, it can only get uglier. I like the Bengals to finally get a win and show us why they were a playoff team last year.

Cowboys vs. Lions
Finally the Cowboys get a win and show-off their talent on both sides of the ball by beating the Giants last weekend. They got a solid win without Tony Romo behind center. With the Lions keeping games within arm’s reach they still broke the NFL record for most road losses in a row with 25. Their run defense on the road has been horrific and Felix Jones is starting to emerge for the Dallas Cowboys.  Defensive end Cliff Avril is also in danger of missing a second straight weekend for the Lions with a thigh injury and if it’s one thing the Lions have going for them on defense this year, it is their front four. They have been playing lights out football and compete with the elite front fours in the NFL. This would be a significant loss for the Lions this weekend if Avril is a no go. Jahvid Best still suffers from turf toe on both feet while they will monitor his carries and give fullback Jerome Felton some of the load. I like Jerome Felton as a low-end flex play this week if you can take a risk. Jahvid Best should have a decent day in ppr leagues as the Cowboys seem to give up a lot of yards to running backs in coverage. I love Dez Bryant as a number two wide receiver this week with huge upside and I think Roy Williams will have a solid game against his former team, along with former quarterback Jon Kitna. Skies the limit on terms of fantasy points for both teams.  Jason Garrett is 1 and 0 as a head coach and I think he keeps it going to 2 and 0 this week at home.

Jaguars vs. Browns
What an exciting finish it was last weekend for the Jags vs the Texans with a Hail Mary bomb caught by Mike Thomas at the end of the game. That may have been the biggest bang for your buck all season long at the closing seconds of regulation. I like the Jags to win again at home this weekend against the Browns. The Browns can definitely keep this game close with the Jags defense letting up 4.3 yards a carry and ranked at 2t against the run. The Jags pass defense is ranked at 28 but don’t forget they play Peyton Manning twice a year. The Jags pass defense can make some plays and I think they will against rookie quarterback Colt McCoy this week. I just want Colt McCoy to surprise me once more and show me he can get a win on the road as a rookie, I don’t see that happening. Peyton Hillis will have a monster game and Ben Watson should be a solid start as well. Pocket Hercules (MJD) has picked it up after a slow start, and David Garrard has been playing consistently well, scrambling for extra yards, and making plays with his legs. They are both strong number one plays this week in fantasy as the Browns are ranked 20th against the run and 23rd against the pass. I think the Jags should win this game by 10 points.

Chiefs vs. Cardinals
Arrowhead Stadium is supposed to be the hardest place to play at in the NFL and the Cardinals have lost to the Chiefs the last three times they have played in Arrowhead, but Derek Anderson can give them a chance to win in week 11 (Editors Note- Derek Anderson?). The Chiefs are 4 and 0 at home and will look to be 5 and 0 as former offensive coordinator for the Cardinals takes on his old team. Concerning for the Chiefs however is their rushing attack has slowed down as they averaged 2.1 yards a carry on 51 attempts last week against the Broncos defense who currently ranks 30th overall against the run. This is why stats sometimes lie as teams can be mentally ready to play well and have a good game plan going into their upcoming battle. If the Chargers are expected to take over the AFC West division, they are going to have to win some games, but the Chiefs and Raiders who are currently on top of the division will have to lose too. Beanie Wells says he feels better now than he did before his knee surgery but I still wouldn’t start him unless you are desperate this week. I like to see it to believe it even though he is a tenacious athlete but Tim Hightower is averaging over 4 yards a carry and has looked better. Larry Fitzgerald knows how to dominate AFC teams and I expect him to have a great day this weekend. Don’t forget Derek Anderson (Editors Note- Derek Anderson again?) went to the Pro Bowl in 2007, the Cardinals aren’t going to be tricked too much by the Chiefs this weekend and I expect them to keep it close in Arrowhead. Dwayne Bowe should keep up his solid play and should be started in all formats.

Vikings vs. Packers
What a perfect game for Brett Favre to be his last. It probably won’t happen unless he gets injured, but don’t the Vikings have to evaluate Tavaris Jackson going forward? If the Vikings lose they are definitely out of the playoffs, what’s the point in seeing Favre finish out the rest of the season? Logically, from a coaching standpoint, you have to evaluate your possible quarterback of the future at a time like this. Forget the Favre legacy because it will no longer be about that anymore. I don’t think the Vikings have a chance to beat the Packers this weekend despite the fact that the Vikings defense will play their hearts out in a close game. The Packers defense isn’t too shabby either, and Clay Mathews is in the hunt to win MVP this year. Donald Driver may be a game time decision with a thigh injury but we will know more going into pregame warm ups. I consider James Jones a must start as he had a breakout game two weeks ago with 123 yards and a touchdown. I hope you listened to me and picked him up in your league as he is now owned in 41 percent of fantasy leagues. I think Brandon Jackson is a decent flex play this week just because Aaron Rodgers can always move the ball and will setup scoring opportunites for Jackson. Sidney Rice may be activated for the Vikings this week which of course can only help, but that has yet to be determined.  I expect Visanthe Shiancoe and Adrian Peterson to have the best days in fantasy for the Vikings because they are the only two players on their offense that will allow the Vikings to get a win. They are their best playmakers period. Oh yea I almost forgot about Percy Harvin, expect another solid game from him. I like the Packers to win by 4 points but if Favre becomes a double agent again, they can easily lose by 13.

Jets vs. Texans
The Jets almost lost to the Browns in overtime last weekend but that still doesn’t mean they aren’t one of the best teams in the NFL. The Patriots lost to the Browns a few weeks back so there. The Jets pass defense has been put into question a little bit this season, not that they are playing bad, but expectations are very high. They are currently ranked 16 against the pass this season but  have only let up 16.7 points a game to their opponents. It is going to be a tough win to pull out as a Texan on the road this weekend, but if there are a few teams that can do it against the Jets, I consider the Texans to be one of them. The Texans run offense has been the best in the NFL this season while their passing attack has taken a back seat, but that doesn’t mean they can’t sling the ball around with the rest of them. The Texans did beat the Colts on opening day to show the world they can also compete with the best, this is one of the reasons why I think they can beat the Jets on Sunday. The stats say the Jets win by 7 points but I tend to think differently it will be within a field goal’s reach. I would like Ladanian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene this week if the Texans pass defense wasn’t ranked dead last or if the Jets are up so much that they just pound the ball to close the game out, but I don’t see that. There are so many options to go to on the Jets’ offense that I would only guess to stick with the hot hand and say that Santonio Holmes and Dustin Keller are great plays this weekend. Also Braylon Edwards should have a fairly decent game. I think Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter will be key factors in this game for the Texans and can be plugged into fantasy lineups for some solid points. Johnson will be covered by Revis, but it’s hard to sit him unless you have great depth. I expect the Texans to start off slow but change the pace as the game goes along and possibly get the win. This is a going to be a great game.

Steelers vs. Raiders
What a revenge game this will be eh? The Raiders are going into this game watching film on last year’s win at Heinz Field. The Raiders are playing with confidence and are averaging 4.9 yards a carry while the Steelers are only giving up 2.8 yards a carry. This is going to be a dog fight and Namdi Asomugha should be back in the lineup to improve the Raiders defense comes Sunday. This is a game that will show us that speed kills because that is one thing the Raiders have going for them heading into week 11. I personally believe Bruce Gradkowski gives the Raiders the best chance to win but the Raiders are sticking with Jason Campbell’s hot hand. I like the Steelers to win this game at home but I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost again. Zach Miller is back healthy and I expect him to do great things for the Raiders as well as Louis Murphy. The raiders are getting healthy. The Pittsburgh Steelers pass defense is ranked 26th in the league and Troy Polamalu will be playing hurt if he plays at all this weekend (listed as questionable). This is going to be a low scoring game and a great one to watch. I think Rashard Mendenhall has potential for the best fantasy day out of all the Steelers. Hines Ward will be back and ready to play and can also be a factor as a solid number three wide receiver this week. I like the Raiders upsetting the Steelers again this year in week 11.

Titans vs. Redskins

The Titans got smoked last weekend at Miami giving them their first home win and lost to the Dolphins with their third string quarterback in. That’s not very thrilling to see as a Titans fan going into week 11 facing an embarrassed Redskins team who got waxed on Monday Night by Ron Mexico, A.K.A. Mike Vick. His jersey was sent to the Hall of Fame after the win. The Titans rank 25th against the pass and I think Donovan is going to have to take advantage of that while the Titans rush defense ranks 9th overall. Still I believe Mike Shanahan will get things going for his team through the air and ground this weekend and I don’t think the Titans will pull this win out despite the fact that the Redskins pass defense is one of the worst in the league. One minute you love Vince Young, and the next minute you scratch your head. I don’t know what they will be playing for this weekend but I know the Redskins will be playing to redeem their last week’s loss. That is why I like the Redskins on the road this weekend. I think Keiland Williams is a good fantasy start and I believe Santana Moss will be a fantasy sleeper this weekend and should be started in all formats. Chris Johnson and Randy Moss should put up solid numbers this weekend, but don’t expect either one of them to carry your fantasy team on its shoulders.  I like the Redskins to win 20-17.

4 O’clock Breakdowns + Sunday and Monday Night

By Steve DeAngelo

Kansas City Chiefs (5-3) @ Denver Broncos (2-6)  4:05 est

The Broncos come back from their bye where they went in really struggling. Kyle Orton was lighting up every defense he faced at one point but the last couple games has come back down to earth some. It seemed like once Eddie Royal got injured and was playing through injury, Orton started to struggle. However, Royal is healthy now and completes the trio with Brandon Lloyd and Jabar Gaffney. The Chiefs rank 21st against the pass and despite having a solid corner in Brandon Flowers he can’t cover all three of these receivers. Orton should be able to move the ball through the air. At one point Orton had 4 straight 300 yard passing games and he could get back to the 300 yard mark this week with a couple of scores.

Josh Mcdaniels says that Knowshon Moreno is healthy and will get a heavy workload going forward. Good news for Orton, without Moreno healthy Orton failed to have a running game to take pressure off him with having to rely on the ineffective Lawrence Maroney and Corell Buckhalter. This still isn’t a  good matchup for Moreno against a pretty tough K.C. run D ranked 9th overall and only having allowed 5 rushing TDs. Maybe wait a week to see how Moreno looks, again this isn’t a good matchup.

The Chiefs should have won last week vs Oakland, but some bad coaching decisions, special teams and a big drop by Dwayne Bowe late in the game cost them the game. The Chiefs running attack is among the best in the league, but Matt Cassell continues to hold this team back from being a complete team. The Chiefs focus should once again be to run the ball while giving Jamal Charles more carries than Thomas Jones. Both backs should be in for nice games against the 31st worse Run D in the league. Denver is letting up 157 yards on the ground per game and have let up a league high 14 running TD’s. Expect Solid games from both Charles and Jones. Dwayne Bowe has scored in 4 straight games but hasn’t racked up many yards. He only has 1 100 yard game this year. He draws a tough matchup against Champ Bailey, but still is a threat to score because of his size. Look for Tony Moeaki to have a nice game as Denver is letting up the 23rd most points to Tight ends and the athletic LB D.J. Williams will not play Sunday because of suspension after his DWI. Not good news for a Broncos D that has already been struggling mightily. Expect a lot of points in this game as neither defense will be able to contain each others strengths on offense.

Seattle Seahawks (4-4) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-54:15 Est

The return of Matt Hasselback should help, but Seattle is still a very poor road team. This is a good matchup for Hasselback but he simply cannot be relied upon. He has one reliable option in Mike Williams but he isn’t a big play threat. No other Seattle receiver should be started. Williams is a decent flex, because Hasselback will target him at least 10 times and around the endzone.

Despite getting good matchups against TB, Arizona and Oakland Marshawn Lynch has done nothing at RB for Seattle. He is averaging 3 yards per carry. This is a good matchup but Seattle isn’t blocking for him and Lynch lacks explosivness to get through holes, just keep him on your bench unless you don’t have better options.

Whisenhunt went back to Derek Anderson after his Max Hall experiment failed miserably. I guess he thought Hall was better than Leinart? haaa, Again he should have gave Leinart a chance. Anyway, he has Derek Anderson who is bad but at least he helps out Larry Fitzgerald. Beanie Wells like Lynch has been brutal despite good matchups. Beanie isn’t healthy, his knee has to be bothering him and it shows. Keep him on your bench, he may not even play Sunday. Fitzgerald is the only guy worth starting for the Cardinals. This will probably be the most boring game this Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys (1-7) @ New York Giants (6-2) 4:15 est

The Giants trounced the Seahawks last week without Matt Hasselback, just completely dominating the football game. This week, they get another opponent that they could possibly trample on in Dallas. Ahmad Bradshaw is one of the most talented runners in the league and is always in lineups. Brandon Jacobs makes for a decent flex play and could score this week. Steve Smith is out for the Giants which is a shame because he would have had a big day matched up with Orlando Scandrick. Mario Manningham fills into his role and should fine.  CB Terrance Newman is not playing healthy and his performance has suffered. Michael Jenkins has also been brutal for Dallas all year. Hakeem Nicks should find the endzone once again and Manningham will be a nice play in PPR leagues. Eli Manning should be in for a nice day unless somehow Dallas plays to the level of their talent on defense, don’t bet on it.

Jon Kitna was the biggest reason for Dallas’ poor play against the Giants. They can blame it on Wade Phillips, The offensive line, the defensive line the secondary, but Kitna was the main problem. He just kills this offense. He can’t get the ball downfield and can’t create any plays. However once in a while Kitna will have a game where he steps up, could it be this week? Who knows but you still gotta sit Roy Williams who has done nothing since Kitna arrived and consider sitting Miles Austin who has also suffered. Dez Bryant and Jason Witten are the biggest benefactors because of Kitna and both should be in your lineups. Felix Jones has been a disappointment since moving into the starting role and should be benched along with Marion Barber. Tashard Choice should be on your roster if you have room, especially for keeper leagues.

San Fransisco 49ers (2-6) at St. Louis Rams (4-4) 4:15 Est

Despite a 0-5 start the 49ers still have a chance to win the NFC west being only 2 games back. This is a huge game for them this week. They will start Troy Smith at QB and Smith could give them a little spark on offense. Smith will rely heavily rely on Vernon Davis who is healthy coming back from his ankle injury which knocked him out early in week 8. Frank Gore will also be relied upon heavily, but it’s not like he wasn’t already. Gore and Davis are the only guys worth starting and both should have nice games. Michael Crabtree scored in his first game with Smith and had 53 yards but wait and see how they connect this week and go with other options.

Sam Bradford should be on teams in keeper leagues, but you should have better options than Bradford right now. He really only has 1 receiver to go to and that is Danny Amendola who is a nice start in ppr leagues. Steven Jackson will be relied upon heavily. It’s not a great matchup for Jackson against a tough 49ers run D, but he has to be in lineups.

New England (6-2) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) Sunday Night 8:20 Est

Peyton Hillis abused this New England Run D last week. Peyton Hillis is good but his offensive line is better. Still the Patriots took bad angles all game and just played the run poorly. Rashad Mendenhall should provide similar problems this week as he should find holes and be able to get to the edge just like Hillis did. Rothlisberger should enjoy throwing against this young secondary even though Safety Patrick Chung should return. Mike Wallace should continue his production since Ben came back and is a must-start as is Hines Ward. Heath Miller is also a good start this week as New England is 24th in points allowed to tight ends.

Right now I’m not overly impressed with this Patriots offense. They are missing the deep threat that Randy Moss gave them and lack explosiveness. Wes Welker still hasn’t gone over 75 yards yet this year and hasn’t scored since week 2. Brandon Tate has been extremely inconsistent and had one lucky catch that went for a TD since Moss left.  Deion Branch is supposed to be back and healthy, so will see he could help get this passing game going, but keep him out of lineups. Aaron Hernandez will continue to be the main receiving threat in this offense and is a must start at Tight End. Danny Woodhead is a decent flex play most weeks but should be swallowed up by Pittsburgh and their No 1 Run D, keep him and Ben Jarvus Green-Ellis on your bench. Pittsburgh’s secondary isn’t that good ranked 24th in the league, but you still may want to consider benching Tom Brady this week as the pressure from the Steelers D might cause him to struggle.

Philadelphia Eagles (5-3) @ Washington Redskins (4-4) Monday Night 8:30

The big question in this game is how will Donovan Mcnabb perform after being benched for one of the worst QB’s in football in Rex Grossman. Mcnabb should be motivated to prove the Shanahan’s wrong and get another win against his former team. However, I just don’t see a good performance from Mcnabb. He may throw for 200 yards but probably will be limited to 1 TD. Santana Moss historically hasn’t been good against Philly and will be matched up with Asante Samuel. Chris Cooley has to be in lineups as Philly has been exposed by Tight Ends all year.  Start Santana if you have too, but don’t expect a big game. Ryan Torain should get the start but is banged up coming into this one, he’s not a great option. Clinton Portis will most likely be out one more week, so expect Keiland Williams to get some carries and catch some passes, not worth starting though.

Michael Vick is playing the best football of his career and right now is playing like one of the best QB’s in the league. His deep balls have pinpoint accurate with some help from Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin because they can catch up to his bombs. Vick should have a very nice day against a struggling Redskins secondary ranked 2nd to last in the league. Jackson and Maclin are must-starts. Keep Brent Celek on your bench unless you have to start him, Vick has yet to find a chemistry with him, but be patient it should be coming, maybe this week.  Lesean Mcoy should also enjoy a nice day. The Eagles are just the better overall football team coming in red-hot and should get a W here on Monday Night.

Evening Player News 10-26

Brett Favre (Ankle)- Will Visit Dr. James Andrews about his Ankle. Favre is questionable this week, but it’s Brett Farve, stay tuned.

Tony Romo ( Shoulder) – Looks like a 6-8 week injury. I think it’s safe to cut Romo from your team. Jon Kitna is a decent pickup with the talent surrounding him. Roy Williams thinks he will be just as effective as Romo, haaa

Desean Jackson (Concussion)- Cleared tests but is still Very Sore and is still a question mark for Week 9. The Eagles have a bye in Week 8 so there is a good chance Jackson should be back with 2 more weeks rest.

Jahvid Best (Turf Toe) – Best, coming off the bye week has looked good in practices and coach Jim Schwartz said he thinks Best’s Toe problems are almost behind him. The bye week came at the perfect time for Best. Go and trade for him while you still can.

Anthony Gonzalez – Looks like he’s finally healthy and will play this weekend. With Collie out for at least a couple more week, Gonzalez could easily fill his role with his talent. He’s a nice pickup this week if he wasn’t snatched up last week.

Jacob Tamme TE Colts- Colts GM Bill Polian has stated that he believes Tamme can step in and fill Dallas Clark’s role. With Peyton Manning at the helm there is no rason not to believe that Tamme won’t produce. He won’t be as good as Clark, but Tamme can still be a good option for you team. Go and pick him up.

Joseph Addai (Shoulder)- Is still doubtful for week 8, Donald Brown is also questionable himself so Mike hart could be the starter this week. Stay Tuned.

David Garrard (Concussion)- Was cleared to play for Sunday, no more Todd Bouman for the Jaguars.

Michael Vick- (Ribs) – Says he’s about 90% right now so after their bye week in week 8 he should fully be ready to return for week 9.

WR Josh Morgan(thigh) was a full participant in Friday’s practice and is expected to play Sunday in Carolina. CB Nate Clements(ankle) is likely to miss Sunday’s game which could mean a big day for Steve Smith who himself is returning from an ankle injury. TE Vernon Davis(knee) practiced with no issues this week and will start Sunday.

Bears News

LB Lance Briggs(ankle) was able to practice Friday and is expected to start Sunday. IDP leaguers get him back into your lineups against the Redskins.

Bills News

No Major injuries effecting your fantasy squad.

Broncos News

CB Champ Bailey(ribs) has the best chance at playing this week over the rest of the Broncos on the injury report. WR Eddie Royal(groin) participated in a limited fashion during Friday’s practice and will be a game time decision. If you have another option, use him over Royal who even if he does play won’t be 100%.

Browns News

RB Peyton Hillis(quadricep) is probable this week and should play in a pretty good matchup against the Saints. WR/KR Josh Cribbs (concussion) is expected to play Sunday. Rookie QB Colt McCoy will get the start once again this week while QB’s Jake Delhomme(ankle) and Seneca Wallace (ankle) sit out.

Cardinals News

WR’s Steve Breaston(knee) and Early Doucet (groin) are both being considered game time decisions. If you have other options or cannot wait until the 4pm game to make a roster decision, look elsewhere. Rookie WR Stephen Williams (back) is not likely to play Sunday and could miss some more time as he is dealing with a small fracture in his back.

Chargers News

WR’s Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee(hamstring) are both unlikely to play Sunday in what would be great matchup against the Patriots. TE Antonio Gates(toe) will be a game time decision, but many close to the Chargers believe Gates will play. RB Ryan Mathews (ankle) practiced in full Friday and will start. Mathews is a high end RB2 against the weak Pats defense.

Chiefs News

No significant Fantasy news.

Colts News

The Colts are on a bye this week, however they are just riddled with injuries. TE Dallas Clark(hand/wrist) was placed on IR ending his season. WR Austin Collie(foot) had surgery this week and will be sidelined at least two weeks. RB Joseph Addai (shoulder) is seeking a second opinion on his shoulder but sources say he will probably miss the next 4-5 weeks. There is nothing torn just some nerve damage. Donald Brown(hamstring ) would be first in line to start with Addai out but he just can’t seem to get healed up. Mike Hart would get the starting nod in Week 8 if Brown is unable to go.

Cowboys News

Dez Bryant (ribs/ankle) is fully healthy according to sources and will play Monday night against the Giants.

Dolphins News

No significant Fantasy News

Michael Vick(ribs) will not start Sunday but will dress and will be emergency QB. Vick is expected to return to a starting role in week 9 after next weeks bye. QB David Garrard(concussion) will not play Sunday. Coach Jack Del Rio will not announce a starter until Sunday. It will be between Trent Edwards and Todd Bouman, neither of which is a viable option.

Lions News

The Lions are on a bye this week. QB Matthew Stafford(shoulder) is expected to return and start week 8. LB Zach Follett(stinger) was released from the hospital and thankfully will be ok. He layed motionless on the field during Sunday’s loss to the Giants after getting hit by DE Jason Pierre-Paul. It looked a lot worse and luckily he was not severely injured.

Packers News

WR Donald Driver(quadricep) returned to limited practice Friday and is listed as probable. Driver is very likely to play so keep him in your lineups. LB Clay Matthews(hamstring) is going to play Sunday but more than likely will only play on passing downs. If you don’t have other options, you have to start him, but if possible, bench him for this week as his total snaps will be limited.

Raiders News

QB Jason Campbell(knee) is likely to start Sunday unless he has a setback. He was able to practice on a limited basis the last few days so he should be good to go. This brings some value back to the Raiders receivers, who would have had little to none with Kyle Boller at the helm. Bruce Gradkowski(shoulder) is still unable to go.
