Sometimes I glance over different sites’ Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em articles out of curiosity just to see who they are recommending or not recommending. This week I stumbled upon a particular site and I really just shook my head in amazement of how obvious a lot of these players were. I try to do my best to provide you with the not so obvious selections, because that is what this article should be about. Otherwise, what is the point of reading? Anyway, this particular site had recommended starts such as Julio Jones, Jordy Nelson, Demaryius Thomas, Reggie Wayne and then at QB, Matt Ryan and Eli Manning. I mean, do we really need to be advised that these guys should start? Most of these guys were drafted within the first 5 rounds of our drafts and should be started every week regardless. Maybe the author is just trying to make us feel good about our teams? Or maybe he is just thinks the majority of his readers are dumb? If you are a supposed “expert” then give me some expert advice, not something I could get from a 10 year-old! At Fp911 we recognize our readers are passionate, knowledgeable owners and we try to provide them with the best information we possibly can. We hope that you recognize the difference between our site and others and continue to stick with us throughout this season and into the future.

You won’t see the obvious names on here, that would be pointless. Maybe occasionally to give you a reminder, but rather we are looking to identify some guys that you may be on the fence with and encourage you to either start or sit them. Matchups will be broken down, stats will be used, some projections will be provided and some “gut” feeling will be mixed in. But when it comes down to the come down, it’s your “gut” you need to roll with.

Quarterbacks

Start ‘Em

Andrew Luck vs Green Bay

Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts

Luck has averaged 282 yards passing over his first three games in the NFL and should keep it rolling against Green Bay. It’s not a ideal matchup, but the Colts should be passing early and often as they try to keep up with the Packers. Look for Luck to approach 300 yards passing once again and to throw at least 2 TD’s in what should be a high scoring affair in Indy.

Andy Dalton vs Miami

Dalton is emerging in his Sophomore campaign and has 8 TD’s in his last 3 games while going over the 300-yard mark twice. Miami’s Defense has been tough against the run, but inferior against the pass ranked 19th in points allowed to Fantasy QB’s. Dalton is a guy who is out there on waivers in a lot of leagues and a QB I would look to play matchups with if my number #1 option wasn’ t the strongest. This is one of those weeks as I look for Andy to keep it rolling at home.

Christian Ponder vs Tennessee

Could be a good week to play Ponder if you are a Romo owner and looking for a bye week replacement. The Titans defense is allowing 26 points per game to Fantasy QB’s, tied for last in the league with Oakland and have allowed 10 passing TD’s as well. The Vikings should be moving the ball all game and Ponder will have opportunities to score. I can see Ponder throwing a TD and possibly running one in as well. The matchup is right here, so I believe it’s safe to play Ponder if you need to.

Sit ‘Em

Sam Bradford vs Arizona

Don’t get giddy and try to start Bradford tomorrow night. If you haven’t recognized by now, you should have noticed that Arizona’s defense is legit. Yes, Ryan Tannehill threw for 400 yards against them last week, but that was only because of the man, the myth, the legend, Brian Hartline! Bradford hasn’t thrown a TD in two games and now goes against the Cardinals who are allowing the 6th fewest points to Fantasy QB’s. Keep Sammy benched in all leagues.

Matt Schaub @ NYJ

The Jets did lose Darelle Revis, but their secondary did a nice job against Alex Smith last week holding him under 150 yards passing and without a TD. The Jets were embarrassed last week at home, so I expect them to have an inspired effort back in their building on Monday Night Football. They also still rank 7th best against Fantasy QB’s. Schaub may have a decent day, but will most likely be held under 250 yards passing and could be limited to just one passing TD.

Michael Vick @ Pittsburgh

Not crazy about this matchup for Vick as he goes on the road to Heinz Field with the Steelers coming off a bye week after the loss to the Raiders. This was a Pittsburgh secondary that was the toughest against Fantasy QB’s last year and I think if you have a better option you should bench Vick this week. Vick’s matchups have been brutal so far going against Arizona, Baltimore, the Giants and now Pittsburgh. Things will get easier for Vick, but this is a week to be cautious with him.

Running Backs

Start ‘Em

Frank Gore vs Buffalo

Gore hasn’t been great this year, but has been his usual steady self, finding the endzone in three out of his four games. The matchup is right here against Buffalo who are allowing the 27th most points to Fantasy Backs.

Ryan Mathews @ New Orleans

I have always felt Mathews was a little overrated, mostly because he’s always getting hurt and never lives up to expectations. Yet every year owners take him high only to be disappointed. There is some concern again this season with the emergence of Jackie Battle and him taking the goal line carries. After recommending Mathews last week, I hope he doesn’t burn us again this week in what is the best matchup he might face all year. We all know the Saints have been brutal against the run and Mathews should get it going, but even if he can’t find running room he should be a factor in the passing game. Either way he should produce for your fantasy teams, if he doesn’t and Jackie Battle continues to steal the show, be worried!

Alfred Morris vs Atlanta

Alfred Morris, Washington Redskins

This guy just continues to beast, running through holes and through defenders. So far in 2012, Morris is averaging 4.6 yards per carry and has 4 TD’s. Atlanta’s secondary has been top notch but their Run Defense is a different story, allowing the 25th most points to Fantasy Backs. It doesn’t look like Morris is going anywhere in the near future and he looks to be a legit option for the rest of the season. Props to all owners who snatched him up.

Sit ‘Em

Steven Jackson vs Arizona

Why did you draft him? I’m sorry but that was a donkey move! Move him if you can or else he will continue to frustrate you! No TD’s and a 3.3 YPC, turrible! This guy is fool’s gold every season.

DeAngelo Williams/Jonathan Stewart vs Seattle

When both are on the field, they can be considered flex plays at times, but this is a week to avoid them. The Seahawks have been stout against the run, allowing the 7th fewest points to Fantasy Backs.

Chris Johnson @ Minnesota

Johnson broke out in the unlikeliest of matchups against Houston, but I still want to see more. I would continue to try and see what you could get for him. If Johnson has another good game against Minnesota and their No.2 Rush D, then I may be a believer, but I am banking against Johnson in this game.

Wide Receivers

Start ‘Em

Brian Hartline @ Cincinnati

Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins

Hartline is Fo’ Real and Tannehill loves him. Now, he’s not going to produce 200-yard games, but he should get a good amount of catches and come close to 100 yards often. Hopefully you landed him on the wire this week. I would even go out and try to trade for the guy, his value couldn’t be that high. Tannehill loves to hit this guy on comeback routes, which Hartline seems to have perfected. Stick ‘em in your lineups this week and expect production.

Dwayne Bowe vs Baltimore

Don’t be discouraged by the matchup. This guy is the ideal fantasy play week to week because Casselconstantly looks his way and Bowe just reels the passes in. Bowe has seen 43 targets the past three weeks! I kind of feel kind of cheap owning Bowe in Fantasy, because he plays for such a poor team and most of his stats come in garbage time!

Eric Decker @ New England

After a slow start to the season Eric Decker has picked the pace up the last two weeks catching 15 balls for over 200 yards and a TD. Decker could start to distance himself from Demaryius Thomas in the coming weeks, at the very least stay neck to neck. Either way, Decker is for real and needs to be in your lineups this week and pretty much every week going forward. This might be the last time you see him on my Start ‘em list.

Sit ‘Em

Pierre Garcon vs Atlanta

Garcon owners are finally glad to have him back healthy and ready to emerge with RGIII. But he had a slow return last week with just one catch for 20 yards and he gets a tough matchup this week in Atlanta who have been the best against Fantasy Wideouts. Garcon will start producing soon, but avoid him in this matchup.

Anquan Boldin @ Kansas City

Boldin looked great last Thursday night popping off for 131 yards on 9 catches, but don’t be confident in him in Week five. The Chiefs defense is starting to return to prominence now that they are getting healthier and are ranked 7th best in defending Fantasy WR’s. Brandon Flowers will be a tough matchup for Boldin, so look forFlacco to connect with his other options. Dennis Pitta time?

Andre Roberts @ St. Louis

Andre Roberts along with Brian Hartline were hot pickups this week, but unlike Hartline who I am suggesting to start, consider sitting Roberts. The Rams have been 4th best against Fantasy WR’s, so expect Roberts to be limited somewhat. I do like Roberts outlook for the entire season however and believe the guy is going to remain consistent.

Tight Ends

Start ‘Em

Kyle Rudolph vs Tennessee

Rudolph along with Dennis Pitta both burnt me last week, but Rudolph at least should bounce back this week. The Titans have been brutal against all offensive players and are the worst at defending the Tight End position. Rudolph should provide for your fantasy squads in Week five.

Scott Chandler @ San Francisco

Scott Chandler, Buffalo Bills

The matchup doesn’t look good at first, but if you dig deeper you will see that the 49ers haven’t been great at defending the Tight End ranked 26th overall. Chandler is going to remain Fitzpatrick’s favorite target around the goaline as Chandler continues to have a bit of breakout season in 2012. Look for Chandler to either finish with a TD or have a good game yardage wise.

Jacob Tamme @ New England

Tamme hasn’t lived up to his draft day hype, but this might be the week to plug him back into your lineups. This game will be a shootout and the Pats have been bad against Tight Ends ranked 2nd worst in points allowed. If Tamme doesn’t get it done this week or if we see Joel Dreessen cutting into his production, he could be waiver wire material.

Sit ‘Em

Heath Miller vs Philly

Miller has been one of Ben‘s favorite targets this season, but consider sitting him this week against Philly who are ranked 4th best at defending the Tight End.

Martellus Bennett vs Cleveland

Bennett had a slow game against Philly last week with just one catch and might be in for another off performance against the Browns who are ranked 3rd best in points allowed to Tight Ends.

Jermichael Finley @ Indianapolis

If Greg Jennings is out with the groin injury that helps Finley, but this guy still only has one TD all season and drops way too many passes. The Colts are also are giving up the fewest points to Fantasy Tight Ends, so look to bench Finley.

IDP’s

Start ‘Em

Akeem Ayers @ Minnesota

Akeem Ayers, Tennessee Titans

The young Titans LB has been emerging this season with 29 tackles a sack and three pass deflections. He should continue to rack up the tackles this week as the Vikings will run Peterson a ton and Ponderwill also take off from time to time. Continue to put the talented youngster out there and pick him up and start him if he’s available in your league.

Lance Briggs @ Jacksonville

We saw Briggs pick of Romo, pull of a juke move and take it to the house on Monday Night against Dallas and he should keep the stats pumping against Jacksonville. MJD will be running often which means plenty of tackle opportunities for Briggs, plus Blaine Gabbert could toss him a INT as well. The Chicago Defense is going to dominate the Jags, get Briggs in your lineups.

Sit ‘Em

DeAngelo Hall vs Atlanta

Hall preys upon bad QB play and bad WR’s, but he won’t have that luxury this week against Atlanta. Hall won’t do much guarding Julio Jones and Roddy White, keep him benched.

Devin McCourty vs Denver

Don’t like this matchup for McCourty facing Peyton Manning. Keep him reserved.

FantasySavvy 2012: Week 4 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

Week three, and all it’s craziness are in the books. The replacement refs will return for tonight’s game between the Ravens and Browns and maybe they can return some sanity. The regular Refs will return and no doubt will be praised early on even if they make some horrible calls initially, but eventually, just like all refs, they will be bashed and harassed and we may even demand the replacement refs back! While I didn’t think the replacement refs were good, there was definitely a lot overreaction in the media in my opinion. But the good news is, you don’t have replacement writers here at Fp911. My Girlfriend will not be filling in for me this week, nor will my Aunt Cindy be making my selections. No, no, there will be none of that. I am here and would never compromise our product. Paul Greco Dan Stack, Dan Leason, Colin Hager, Chuck Anderson and the rest of the guys are all here and will remain here week to week to provide you with the best Fantasy Football information we possibly can.

Quarterbacks

Start ‘Em

Peyton Manning vs Oakland

I’ve been off on Manning for two weeks in a row, but this week I “guarantee” I will be right as he will produce nicely for your fantasy teams. Manning got the job done last week against an extremely tough Texan defense by throwing for 330 yards with two TD’s and has been great at home thus far throwing for nearly 600 yards with 4 TD’s and no INT’s. He stays in Denver this week against Oakland and should have his way against this secondary that is ranked 27th overall in defending Fantasy QB’s.

Joe Flacco vs Cleveland

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

Cleveland’s secondary is just not the same without Stud CB Joe Haden and it’s showing in the numbers. The last two weeks they’ve been eaten up by Andy Dalton and Ryan Fitzpatrick and as a result are ranked 28th against Fantasy QB’s. Flacco may not have a huge yardage night but expect him to finish with around 250 yards passing with at least 2 TD’s.

Andy Dalton @ Jacksonville

Dalton could be coming into his own this season throwing back to back 300-yard three touchdown games. The matchups have helped against a Joe Haden less Browns secondary and an injury riddled Skins team, but nonetheless he’s producing at a high level. Jacksonville’s secondary hasn’t been bad this year ranked 10th overall against Fantasy QB’s, but I am a believer in Dalton and his weapons. The Bengals should have plenty of possessions with Blaine Gabbert’s ineffectiveness, so look for Dalton to get plenty of chances to score and find the endzone a few times.

Sit ‘Em

Jay Cutler @ Dallas

Cutler has been brutal after his big Week 1 showing, being held under 200 yards twice while throwing just 1 TD with 5 INT’s. Unfortunately for Jay, it does not get much easier against Dallas and their new and improved secondary. Dallas is currently allowing the fewest points to Fantasy QB’s and they will stay atop the charts after facing Cutler.

Jake Locker @ Houston

Locker was terrific against Detroit in Week three throwing for 378 with two TD’s, but the sledding gets rough this week against the Texans. I would not expect him to fare well against this top defense, so I advise you to keep the youngster reserved in this matchup.

Cam Newton @ Atlanta

Let’s hope this is the first and last time we have to put Newton on this list this season, but if he continues to play like he did last week against the Giants we might be seeing him here more often. Atlanta’s secondary has been great ranked 5th best in defending Fantasy QB’s as CB’s Asante Samuel and Dunta Robinson have been holding it down in the absence of CB Brent Grimes. Cam Newton also doesn’t have have great numbers against the Falcons with just two TD’s and 5 INT’s. You may not have a better option than Cam on your bench, but if you do, consider reserving him in this game.

Running Backs

Start ‘Em

Stevan Ridley @ Buffalo

Ridley was taken out of the gameplan last week against Baltimore but should return this week against Buffalo. The Patriots should be running often in this game as they should hold the lead for the majority of the game. Look for Ridley to approach 100 yards rushing and have a couple shots to reach the endzone.

Ryan Mathews @ Kansas City

Ryan Mathews, San Diego Chargers

Mathews made his 2012 season debut last week, but was somewhat limited in his return from his shoulder injury. It also didn’t help that the Chargers got blown out and Mathews didn’t have a chance to really produce. Expect Mathews to get going against Kansas City as he gets it done in both the passing and running game. I expect over 100 total yards with 4 to 5 catches and a possible score.

Cedric Benson @ New Orleans

To my surprise, Benson has been fairly involved in the Packers offense. He’s received nearly 40 carries in his last two games and is even catching some passes out of the backfield. He should definitely be in the gameplan this week against New Orleans and their last ranked Rush Defense. Benson should approach 100 yards and find the endzone in what will be a shootout at the Superdome.

Sit ‘Em

Chris Johnson @ Houston

If you have traded Chris Johnson, I can’t blame you with his atrocious 1.4 yards per carry. I mean what the hell happened to this dude? 1.4 ypc? I’m pretty sure you and I could go out there and average at least 2 yards per carry. Anyway if you can’t deal him he needs to remain benched until proven otherwise, plus, this matchup sucks. Hopefully Jake Locker continues to emerge this season and helps open up some holes for him.

Steven Jackson vs Seattle

Here is another guy that you will regret drafting. I spoke on it last week, I never understand the infatuation with this guy. I ranted on it already, but steer clear of Jackson against Seattle. The Seahawks defense is legit.

Ryan Williams vs Miami

Good news for Williams owners as Beanie Wells will be out until November with a turf toe injury. Williams also showed some life against Philly by rushing for 83 yards on 13 carries. But, keep Williams benched this week against Miami and their top 10 Run Defense.

Wide Receivers

Start ‘Em

Vincent Jackson vs Washington

Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Bucs

Jackson was a recommended sit last week against the Cowboys but he is a must-start against this injury decimated Washington Defense. The Skins secondary has allowed the most points to Fantasy WR’s in 2012 getting torched by Danny Amendola and A.J. Green the last two weeks.

Brandon Lloyd @ Buffalo

Lloyd and Brady are looking better and better every week and It could finally all come together in Buffalo. Lloyd has seen 25 combined targets the last two weeks and look for Brady to look his way often again on Sunday. Lloyd doesn’t have a score so far and only has one 100-yard game so there is still some time to buy low.

Torrey Smith vs Cleveland

I had Smith on my sit list last week, but had I known he was going to play despite his brothers death, I would of recommended him. We see it a lot where something tragic happens to these players and they go out, play and have a special performance. Much respect to Smith who went off for two TD’s against New England. After a slow start to the season I expect last week’s game to catapult Smith and he should enjoy another nice game tonight.

Sit ‘Em

Nate Washington @ Houston

There is that Houston defense again. Washington had an amazing catch last week which went for a TD, but reserve him in this game.

Brandon Marshall @ Dallas

Brandon Carr shutdown Vincent Jackson last week and I expect him to matchup with Brandon Marshall this week and contain him as well. Cutler has been brutal, the Dallas secondary has been superb, stay away from Marshall.

Danny Amendola vs Seattle

Amendola was slowed down against Chicago after he exploded against Washington and he could be slowed even more against Seattle and their physical corners. Brandon Browner and Co. will be up in the face of Amendola and I expect him to struggle. I like Amendola, I hate this matchup.

Tight Ends

Start ‘Em

Kyle Rudolph @ Detroit

Rudolph has 3 TD’s already this year and is proving to be Christian Ponder‘s favorite redzone target. Look for Rudolph to produce against the Lions who are allowing the 2nd most point to Fantasy Tight Ends.

Dennis Pitta vs Cleveland

Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens

Pitta seems to be Joe Flacco‘s favorite option and it shows in the targets numbers as Pitta leads all Baltimore receivers with 31. Pitta should enjoy another nice game against Cleveland and is turning into an every week start.

Owen Daniels vs Tennessee

Daniels is finally healthy and has been steady so far this year. He finally reached the endzone last week and could return there again facing the Titans who are allowing the most points to Fantasy Tight Ends.

Sit ‘Em

Jared Cook @ Houston

Cook is the the 4th Titan to make the sit em list this week. Cook got into the endzone last week, but did come off a fluky big play. I expect Cook to remain inconsistent this year and he needs to be benched in unfavorable matchups such as this one.

Jason Witten vs Chicago

I thought Witten would get off the schnide last week, but he disappointed once again. Romo probably won’t have a bigtime game against Chicago, so that should mean Witten most likely will struggle again. Things will get better for Witten, but he needs to show it first before you start reinserting him back into your lineups.

Fred Davis @ Tampa Bay

After two slow weeks to start the season, Davis enjoyed a nice game last week going for 90 yards on seven catches. I’m still not convinced he’s going to be a favorite of RG3 this year or at least not right away so I am sitting him this week. Tampa Bay is also in the top 10 at defending the Tight End position.

IDP

Start ‘Em

Chris Clemons @ St. Louis

The undrafted Clemons had a monster game last week against Green Bay sacking Aaron Rodgers four times. Clemons has a great matchup against the Rams who allowed the most sacks in the league last year and are allowing the 2nd most sacks this year. Expect another nice performance.

Ed Reed vs Cleveland

Ed Reed, Baltimore Ravens

Ed Reed vs Brandon Weeden on National TV? Look for Reed to pick off Weeden at least once and possibly take one to the house.

Sit ‘Em

Cliff Avril vs Minnesota

Avril hasn’t gotten off to the start many people expected with just one sack this season after finishing with eleven last year. Keep him benched until he proves last season wasn’t a fluke.

Derrick Morgan @ Houston

Arian Foster and Ben Tate will be centerfolding this offense as usual, so Morgan won’t have many sack opportunities on Matt Schaub. The Texans offensive line has also allowed the 3rd fewest sacks.

Fantasy Savvy Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 15 Semifinals Edition

This season has officially flown by. I really cannot believe we are in Week 15 already. But this is the most exciting time of the year for us fantasy players. This is the playoffs and now we are in the Semifinal round, one victory away from the glorious Fantasy Superbowl. Let’s face it, It’s time to get REAL SERIOUS!

QB’s Start ‘Em

Matt Ryan @ Jacksonville

Mr. Ryan has been excellent of late throwing another 4 TD’s last week. Julius Jones looks to be almost completely healthy now, Roddy White has picked it up, and Tony G is still playing like a 20 year old. This passing game has been outstanding of late. Keep Ryan going here against the severely banged up Jacksonville secondary that has lost its top 4 cornerbacks to injury.

Tim Tebow @ New England

If you haven’t seen The Year of The Quarterback on featuring Tim Tebow, you need to see it. It’s a must watch. The guy is a workout warrior. He defines work ethic. Watching this verified my belief that Tebow will do everything in his power to make himself the best QB he can possibly be. There are no shortcuts and he puts no limits on himself. He truly is an inspiring figure.

Getting back to the matchup, obviously it’s a great one for Tebow and an interesting one as well. How many times will he throw it in his game? The Pats will put up at least 24 points in this game and Tebow is going to have to throw to move the ball and when he does he should find success. Again, Tebow has no downside, the guy scores at least 18 points every week and this could be his best matchup of the year.

Andy Dalton @ St. Louis

Dalton has been on my sit list the last 3 weeks because he has had tough matchup after tough matchup. But this week it eases up against St. Louis. Dalton is battle tested after going through that rough patch. He is going to have a nice game here and is a fairly solid start if you need to turn to him. Look for close to 300 yards passing and 2-3 TD’s.

Sit ‘Em

Alex Smith vs Pittsburgh

Just steer clear if you can, terrible matchup on Monday Night Football against the Steelers. The 49ers are going to struggle to score.

Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Buffalo

Fitzy has been stinky after the hot start. Maybe it’s that wicked beard he’s been rocking? He really needs to cut that horribleness. Seriously what is he doing with that thing? Stay away.

Phillip Rivers vs Baltimore

Rivers has been hot the last few weeks but he’s had some juicy matchups vs Jacksonville and Buffalo. Those guys can’t get to the QB like Baltimore can. I see Rivers struggling in this game. He may hit Jackson or Floyd deep once or twice in this game, but the big plays will be limited. If you have better options sit Rivers against the Ravens who are allowing the LEAST amount of points to QB’s.

RB’s Start ‘Em

Roy Helu @ NYG

Make it three straight 100 yard games for Helu. This guy really has impressed me, he is talented and should be around for a while. Almost reminds me of aRay Rice/Ryan Mathews mix. No reason to think he doesn’t hit 100 yards against the Giants. If he did it against the Jets and Seattle, he can do it against the G-Men.

Beanie Wells vs Arizona

Beanie is banged up, but he’s playing through the injuries and has showed toughness this season. Good matchup here against Cleveland who are strugglingagainst the run ranked 20^th in points allowed to RB’s. Beanie will see over 20 carries in this matchup and should find the endzone at least once.

Cedric Benson @ St. Louis

I have hated on Benson since the start of the year, but he has been pretty helpful to fantasy owners. Gotta start him here against St. Louis, we all know how bad they are vs the run. Dalton is also going to be moving the ball through the air leaving scoring opportunities for Cedric. A two TD game is possible.

Sit ‘Em

Rashard Mendenhall @ San Fran

No.1 Run D in all thee land. NO RUSHING TD’s ALLOWED ALL YEAR! Don’t even think about starting Mendy.

Ryan Mathews vs Baltimore

Tough to sit Mathews since he’s been so good lately, but this is a matchup where you have to think about it. PPR I say go with him, if not make sure he’s on your bench.

Frank Gore vs Pittsburgh

Coach Harbaugh admitted Gore is not really healthy right now and he’s partly to blame. He overworked Gore when he had the talents of Kendall Hunter on his bench. The 49ers really want to win this game since they are still battling for the first-round bye. They may still pound Gore, but this is a rough matchup against Pittsburgh even with Polamalu and Harrison both out. Harbaugh may end up using Hunter a bit more in this game as well.

WR’s Start ‘Em

AJ Green @ St. Louis

Normally I would not put a player of Green’s caliber in this article, but I think you may need to be reminded of how good this guy is. Green currently has 891 yards receiving and 7 TD’s this season. I think he reaches 1,000 yards and adds another TD after this game. This is just a great matchup here, you have to go with Green. If it comes down to Vincent Jackson against Baltimore or Green this week, I’m going with AJ.

Nate Washington @ Indianapolis

After being questionable all of last week, Washington played against the Saints and had two TD’s. If rookie Jake Locker draws the start again this week which is likely, look for him to find his favorite target against the Colts D allowing the 7^th most points to fantasy wideouts. Even if Hasselbeck starts, Washington still is a solid play.

Santana Moss @ New York Giants

Santana did not catch his TD from Rex Grossman last week, it came on a reverse pass from Brandon Banks. But him and Rexy still have shown good rapport dating back to last year and it should show again in the Meadowlands. The Giants secondary has been torched of late and they are ranked 30^thwhen it comes to defending the WR position. I can see Santana having a nice game here. I’m thinking 5-6 catches with 100 yards.

Sit ‘Em

DeSean Jackson vs New York Jets

Jackson stepped up last week with 59 yards and a score but the Jets should contain him. Revis will most likely be covering him and if not I think Cromartieor Kyle Wilson can handle him. Jets have been stout against the pass ranked 3^rdbest in points allowed to WR’s.

Michael Crabtree vs Pittsburgh

Alex Smith is going to have a hard time finding his wideouts this week, so that means be weary of Crabtree. Ike Taylor is a legit corner and should contain Crabtree. Look for other options.

Steve Smith (Carolina) @ Houston

Smith has slowed down the stretch here, although he did have a 100 yard game last week. But this matchup is tough against one of the best secondaries in the league. Texans star CB Jonathan Joseph will be matched up with Smith and I think he contains Stevie. Don’t expect much from Smith, he might be held under 50 yards.

TE’s Start ‘Em

Tony Gonzalez vs Jacksonville

Just a reminder if you are thinking about sitting Tony G this week. Jacksonville is allowing the 31st most point to Tight Ends. The savvy veteran could be in line for a monster game.

Owen Daniels vs Carolina

With Andre Johnson likely out another week, look for TJ Yates to connect with Daniels again this week after Daniels went off for 100 yards last Sunday. Daniels is Yates best receiving option right now.

Anthony Fasano @ Buffalo

The Jersey Boy has been better down the stretch with three 50 yard games in his last five outings. Buffalo is allowing the 23^rd most points to Tight Endsand I think Fasano stays involved regardless if Matt Moore plays or not. Not a bad play if you are desperate at the Tight End position this week.

Sit ‘Em

Heath Miller @ San Fran

Miller has been very quiet of late after a mid-season hot streak. He needs to be benched in this matchup. The 49ers are letting up a lot of points to wideouts, but have been stingy to Tight Ends allowing the 6^th fewest points to TE’s. Big Ben will be looking downfield to Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace in this matchup.

Jermaine Gresham @ St. Louis

For whatever reason the the Rams can defend the Tight End, ranked No.1 in that department. Avoid Gresham.

Greg Olsen @ Houston

Olsen has failed to go over 50 yards in four out of his last five games and only has one TD in that span. Houston has allowed the 3^rd least amount of points to Tight Ends, so Olsen is not due for a rebound game here.

IDP’s Start ‘Em

James Anderson, LB, Carolina Panthers @ Houston

Carolina can’t stop the run and that is what Houston will be doing plenty of this week, running the football. The Texans are running it even more now thatSchaub and Johnson are both out. Anderson will have plenty of opportunities to add to his tackle total.

Brandon Browner, CB, Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago

Browner has been red-hot of lately picking off four passes in his last three games and he could snatch another against the inept Caleb Hanie. The Bears will also be running a lot so Browner should have a nice amount of tackles. The Bears are giving up the 30^th most points to Cornerbacks.

Curtis Lofton, LB, Atlanta Falcons vs Jacksonville

A lot of carries from MJD means a lot of tackle chances for Lofton.

Sit ‘Em

Brandon Flowers, CB, Kansas City Chiefs vs Green Bay

Rodgers does not have to challenge Flowers, he can spread the ball around to any one of his options. Plus even when Rodgers does challenge Flowers the ball most likely will be right on the money to his target. Flowers deflection, interception, and tackle opportunities will be limited this week.

Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns @ Arizona

Not sure how I feel about Haden matching up with Larry Fitzgerald here. Skelton or Kolb whoever plays will be challenging Haden for sure, I’m just not sure if he can handle Fitzgerald. AJ Green fared pretty well vs him a few weeks ago. I would look for other options.

Week 13 4pm Active/Inactives

Colts Austin Collie(concussion) will sit today and Blair White will step in for him again. Mike Hart(ankle) will be back today and will likely split carries with Donald Brown. WR Reggie Wayne(knee) will play as expected.

Chargers TE Antonio Gates(foot) and Malcom Floyd(hamstring) are both active today at home vs. the Raiders. Neither guy could finish last weeks’ game so i’m not terribly confident in them but Gates especially is just too talented to sit if you didn’t start a TE who played at 1pm.

Mike Tolbert will start over Ryan Mathews but both will be active. Mathews is a risky play this week but Tolbert has RB2 upside especially since he’s the most likely to get goal line carries.

Seattle wideout Mike Williams(foot) will be active today against the Panthers. This is a big help for Hasselback as he gets his big receiver back, but definitely brings down Ben Obomanu’s value.

Panthers CB Chris Gamble(hamstring) will sit out today in Seattle. Mike Williams and the rest of the Seattle receivers get a slight boost in value with Gamble out of their.

12/3 Player News

Texans WR Andre Johnson tweaked his ankle during Thursday’s loss to the Eagles but an MRI reavealed no serious damage. He’ll be fine going into Week 14 with a 10 day lay off.

Titans QB Kerry Collins(calf) was limited in practice Friday but hopes are that he’ll be able to go Sunday against the weak Jaguars secondary. He would be a big upgrade for Nate Washington and Randy Moss over Rusty Smith. Kenny Britt(hamstring) is eyeing a week 14 return. Britt was able to do some light drills this week but needs one more week to be back in game shape.

Seahawks WR Mike Williams(f00t) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game but says he expects to play. This would be a big hit to Ben Obomanu’s production but Williams very easily could reaggravate this injury and leave the game early, so i’d keep Obomanu in lineups as the Panthers will be keyed on Williams if he’s in the game.

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson(ankle) practiced Friday and is being considered probable for Sunday’s dream matchup with the Bills. I’d expect Toby Gerhart to steal some carries especially if the game gets out of hand early. Percy Harvin(migraines) was limited in practice Friday and is going to be a game time decision.

Antonio Gates(foot), Mike Tolbert(hand) and Ryan Mathews(ankle) are participated in Friday’s practice and are on track to play Sunday. Tolbert and Mathews are expected to split carries with Tolbert the more likely one to take goal line carries.

Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker(ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup with the Titans. Upgrade TE Marcedes Lewis as he is the only other viable threat besides Mike Thomas for David Garrard to throw too.

The Browns have confirmed Jake Delhomme will start at QB Sunday in Miami.

Jets Safety Jim Leonhard left Friday’s practice on a cart after breaking his tibia. He will now miss the remainder of the season. This is a big blow to the Jets secondary and return game. Eric Smith and Brodney Pool are expected to rotate in at safety while Antonio Cromartie will take over as the punt returner.

Falcons WR Roddy White(knee) as expected practiced in full Friday and is good to go Sunday against the Bucs.

Raiders TE Zach Miller(foot) said he expects to play in San Diego Sunday in a decent matchup as the Chargers pass defense has been great but they have allowed at least 13 fantasy points to TE’s in 5 of the last 6 weeks.

Colts RB Mike Hart(ankle) was unable to practice Friday but is still expected to play Sunday against the Cowboys. Donald Brown will get the start once again as Joseph Addai(neck/shoulder) seems to be a week away from returning to the starting lineup.

Saints RB Pierre Thomas(ankle) was limited in practice Friday but Coach Payton says there is still a “realistic chance” he will play against the Bengals. Even if Thomas does play he’ll have to fight for touches with Chris Ivory, Reggie Bush and dare I say Julius Jones who has actually showed signs of life since becoming a Saint. I wouldn’t recommend starting Thomas if he does play until his role and health are better known.

Bills RB C.J. Spiller(hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday and will play Sunday in Minnesota. Fred Jackson will still get the majority of touches as Spiller will likely be worked back into the mix slowly.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger(foot) will play Sunday in Baltimore in a big division game. Big Ben was unable to get through a full practice all week but the Steelers will implement more shotgun plays in order to help him make it through the whole game. There is no question if Big Ben can walk, he will play in a game that could very likely decide the division.

11/27 Player News

The Raiders have announced that Bruce Gradkowski and not Jason Campbell will start Sunday against the Dolphins. SOURCE: : Adam Schefter on Twitter

Raiders TE Zach Miller(foot) and Darrius Heyward-Bey(hamstring) are both expected to start Sunday. Miller is an average start as he still doesn’t appear to be 100% and DHB is just too inconsistent to be trusted week in and out.

Maurice Jones-Drew(abdomen) is listed as questionable for Sunday against the Giants but is fully expected to play. He will however be without LT Eugene Monroe which will make MJD’s matchup tougher, but he is a must start. Mike Sims-Walker(ankle) is listed as questionable but is believed to be in the lineup. I’d sit him either way as long as you have another option as I can’t see him being close to 100%.

Titans WR Kenny Britt(hamstring) has been officially ruled out once again. Rookie QB Rusty Smith will make his first start against the horrid Texans pass defense, making Nate Washington and Randy Moss decent options even with the rookie under center.

Texans TE Owen Daniels(hamstring) has been ruled out meaning Joel Dreessen will start once again and is a low end TE1 this week.

Redskins WR Santana Moss(hamstring) is going to be a game time decision and I recommend sitting him as these hamstring injuries can flare up at a moments notice. If you have another option, use him.

Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart(concussion) and QB Jimmy Clausen(concussion) are both expected to return this week. Stewart will likely split carries with Mike Goodson in his return against the Browns.

Browns QB Jake Delhomme(ankle) is 100% healed and will get the start with Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace nursing ankle injuries. He is not a fantasy option.

Seahawks receiver Mike Williams(foot) is going to be a game time decision and will play sparingly even if he does play. Explore other options and keep Williams on benches for the time being.

Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki(concussion) and Dexter McCluster(ankle) are both expected to return to the lineup Sunday in Seattle. Moeaki is a low end TE1 while McCluster shouldn’t be started unless your in return yardage leagues.

Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall(hamstring) will miss his first game due to injury in his career. QB Chad Henne(knee) apparently has some miracle healer because two weeks ago we thought his season was over, but he will now start Sunday in Oakland.

Chargers TE Antonio Gates(foot) is a game time decision but most reports i’ve read lean towards him sitting. Don’t wait until 8pm to see if he’s active, start someone else. RB Ryan Mathews(ankle) will sit again leaving Mike Tolbert to get the bulk of the carries against the Colts and their 30th ranked run defense.

Colts WR Austin Collie(concussion), RB’s Joseph Addai(neck) and Mike Hart(ankle) have all been ruled out for Sunday night. WR Blair White will play for Collie while Donald Brown will carry the load at RB. Reggie Wayne(knee) will play even though he is currently listed as questionable.

49ers TE Vernon Davis(ankle) is ready to go after a good week of practice. The ankle has been bothering him for weeks now it appears and shouldn’t be an issue going forward, start Davis.

11/23 Player Updates

Colts Receiver Austin Collie(concussion) has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chargers as a “precaution”. Blair White will fill the slot receiver role and is a solid flex play especially in PPR leagues. Teammate Joseph Addai(neck) will be participating only in non contact work this week during practice. Many believed he’d be able to return during week 12, but this news leads us to believe week 13 is more likely. Donald Brown, who looked much better this past week, would draw another start if Addai is inactive.

Chargers activated Vincent Jackson from the roster exempt list and he is expected to play a significant role in the offense Sunday in Indy. RB Ryan Mathews(ankle) is unlikely to play as well, meaning another start for Mike Tolbert against the leagues 30th ranked run defense. Malcom Floyd(hamstring) tweaked his hammy Monday night and is likely to be a game time decision Sunday. With the game being Sunday night, if you have other options i’d use them instead of holding out hope of Floyd playing. TE Antonio Gates(foot) is still unsure if he’ll be able to come back week 12. Gates is such a tough competitor, I can’t rule his return out completely in a big game like this, but we’ll have to take a wait and see approach. As with Floyd, if you have another option use him with the game being late.

Chargers wideout Patrick Crayton, had a decent game Monday night until he dislocated his wrist. Crayton finished with 3 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown but is now likely to be sidelined at least two weeks. If Crayton and Floyd can’t go, look for Vincent Jackson and Seyi Arijotutu to get the start in a good matchup in Indy.

Giants WR Hakeem Nicks is going to be out at least three weeks with compartment syndrome in his lower right leg. With fellow wideout Steve Smith already on the shelf for at least another week, look for Mario Manningham and Derek Hagan to start Sunday. The Giants also signed former Bucs wideout Michael Clayton from the UFL today. Clayton showed some flashes while in Tampa but never put it together consistently, maybe some time away from the NFL helped him develop and hopefully be able to help the Giants depleted receiving corp.

Dolphins wideout Brandon Marshall, who suffered a hamstring injury during last Thursday’s home loss to the Bears, says he will “do everything in my power to play Sunday.” Marshall has never missed a game because of injury and hopefully that streak continues, but hamstrings are very tough to recover from without the proper amount of rest, so stay tuned.

Browns QB Colt McCoy is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars. If he is unable to go this week, look for Seneca Wallace to return as the Browns starter. TE Ben Watson, was in and out of the lineup Sunday after suffering an ankle injury and was held without a catch. There currently is no updates on this matter and as soon as we have one, we will be sure to pass it along to you.

Lions RB Jahvid Best(turf toe) is having more and more issues with it and was outproduced by Maurice Morris during Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys. Best is not likely to suit up Thursday against the Patriots and with Kevin Smith placed on IR, Maurice Morris would get the start and is a decent flex play in PPR leagues.

Saints RB Reggie Bush(leg) is likely to go Thursday against the Cowboys while Pierre Thomas(ankle) was held out of Tuesdays practice and Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Time-Picayune assumes there has been a setback in Thomas’ recovery. A Thursday afternoon return is even more unlikely return date for Thomas if he’s unable to practice at all just two days prior. We will continue to monitor this but don’t give up on Thomas just yet has he could be a juggernaut for you during your fantasy playoffs.

Redskins RB Clinton Portis(groin) who started Sunday’s game against the Titans, reaggravated it and was unable to return, leaving Keiland Williams to shoulder the load. Portis, in my estimation is done this year and Ryan Torain(hamstring) is more than likely to be ruled out this week as well, leaving Williams to carry the load once again, against the Vikings.

49ers TE Vernon Davis left Sunday’s home loss to the Bucs after aggravating the same ankle he sprained a few weeks back. Davis states that its not that serious but we’ll keep an eye on this going into Monday nights game with the division rival Cardinals.

Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart(concussion) was unable to practice Tuesday and his week 12 status is uncertain. Stewart has missed the last two weeks with this concussion and Mike Goodson has filled in admirably. Stewart still has a ton of talent, but in re-draft leagues it is almost time to cut bait completely.

Titans WR Kenny Britt(hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 12 already. Britt more than likely won’t return until at least Week 14, if he’s lucky. With the Titans loss of Vince Young however, Britt is looking a little less attractive even if he does return if rookie Rusty Smith is under center.

Cardinals receiver Early Doucet has been diagnosed with a concussion after leaving Sunday’s game in the 2nd quarter. Doucet will be monitored throughout the week but I wouldn’t count on him suiting up Monday night against the 49ers.

Seahawks receiver Mike Williams, after posting a 6-109 day Sunday left the game in the third quarter after feeling something pop in his foot. He was unable to return to the game and his status for going forward is dependent upon his response to treatment according to coach Pete Carroll. Week 12 at the very least seems to be a wash as far as Williams is concerned so make other plans.

Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker has now been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, which kept him out of Sunday’s win against the Browns. Sims-Walker is unlikely to play this Sunday against the Giants too, so make other arrangements if he’s in your current lineup.

11/16 Player News

Redskins RB Ryan Torain(hamstring) will be visiting the doctor about this injury. He was expected to start last nights game before feeling some tightness and rookie Keiland Williams carried the load. Williams would be a RB2 in PPR leagues against the Titans if Torain were to sit out this week. Right now it doesn’t look good for the oft-injured Torain to go in Week 11. Stay Tuned.

Bears WR Johnny Knox(flu,ankle) practiced Tuesday and should be fine for this weeks game.

Chiefs rookie TE Tony Moeaki suffered a concussion during Sunday’s blow out loss to the Broncos. Stay tuned to us as we will monitor his test results to see if he can play this week.

Giants receiver Steve Smith(torn pectoral muscle) is expected to be out until early December, opening the door for Mario Manningham to have some big games during that stretch. 2nd year man Ramses Barden suffered a left foot injury during Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys and has been placed on IR. In a response move, they resigned WR Derek Hagans who will split #3 receiver duties with rookie Duke Calhoun.

Steelers cut K Jeff Reed today and signed former Redskin Kicker Shane Suisham. Reed, who missed a chip shot field goal Sunday against the Patriots has struggled all season.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that he expects WR Hines Ward(concussion) to play this week. Ward left Sunday’s loss early and ended his 186 consecutive game streak with at least one reception. It looks like he’ll start a new streak Sunday.

Cards RB Beanie Wells(knee) who was inactive Sunday, is believed to have healed up during the week off and is expected to return Week 11.

Raiders WR Darrius Heyward-Bey(hamstring) is in serious danger of missing this weeks game. The bye week apparently didn’t help the injury heal and you should make other arrangements if he was someone you are relying on. His absense would allow week 9 Raider hero Jacoby Ford to draw another start.

Chargers RB Ryan Mathews(ankle) is still not 100% after the bye week and remains questionable for Sunday’s game.

Chargers WR Malcom Floyd(hamstring) returned to practice Monday and appears to be ready to go this week after missing the past few games. With Floyd returning as well as Vincent Jackson in week 12, Seyi Arijotutu and Patrick Crayton appear to have only one “valuable” week left in them so take advantage in week 11.

Antonio Gates(toe) still is not sure if he’ll play this week so stay tuned and be prepared to find another option in case he can’t go.

Bills rookie CJ Spiller(hamstring) is considered out indefinitely and Fred Jackson‘s value goes way up. Jackson posted 170 total yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s win vs. the Lions.

Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion Sunday and his week 11 status is up in the air. Fellow rookie QB Tony Pike would be next in line to start if Clausen can’t go.

Colts RB Joseph Addai(neck) is expected to return this week, but he’ll have to appear in practice at least once to guarantee. Addai’s return would be big for the Colts especially since Donald Brown hasn’t shown anything.

Jets WR Jericho Cotchery(groin) is expected to miss at least two weeks after suffering a groin tear in Sunday’s come from behind win over the Browns.

Seahawks QB Matt Hasselback(wrist) is expected to start Sunday against the Saints.

The Saints are hoping to get Pierre Thomas(ankle) back on the practice field some time this week, but that remains very iffy. It’s more likely that we’ll see Thomas return to the field in Week 12 rather than this week. We’ll keep you posted on his status. Reggie Bush(leg) says he fully expects to play this week after missing the last eight weeks. I wouldn’t expect a huge workload from Bush even if he returns and Thomas does not as they will likely work him back into the mix slowly. Bush isn’t more than a flex starter at best for his first game back.
